Rusev was one of the multiple Superstars who got released by WWE due to COVID-19 budget cuts. Unfortunately for the Bulgarian Brute, his woes relating to the ongoing pandemic don't end there. The former US Champion has now announced that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Here is what Rusev had to say on his Twitch stream:

“I’m absolutely positive for COVID-19. I’m absolutely, one-hundred per cent, super, mega, incredibly positive. Yes, I got a phone call from the doctor.”

Rusev, who now goes by the name Miro, has been running a Twitch channel as well as a Youtube channel ever since he was let go by the WWE.

There were some rumors that Rusev will be joining Impact Wrestling once his 3-month no-compete clause is over. However, it seems unlikely that he will show up at the Slammiversary event for Impact Wrestling on July 15th.

Renee Young and Kayla Branxton were other big names associated with WWE who were infected by the Coronavirus.

#4 Randy Orton set to become the next WWE Champion

Drew McIntyre has done a fabulous job as the WWE Champion in this era. However, it looks like his reign as the Champion will not get to hear the roar of the crowd as there are already plans to take the title off him.

As per WrestlingNews.co, there is an idea that Randy Orton will become the next WWE Champion at SummerSlam. The reason behind this move is to make the third match between Edge and Randy Orton a Championship match.

However, it is not all bad news for the Scottish Psychopath as the current plans involve him winning back the WWE Championship from Randy Orton once the audience finally returns to the shows.

''An idea was pitched to have Orton win the title and then defend against Edge at the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania and McIntyre could win the title again at a later date to get his true crowning moment with fans in attendance.”

It would be truly unfortunate if Drew McIntyre was to lose his WWE title before even getting a chance to to hear the crowd's reaction to him as Champion.

Brock Lesnar has been out of action since WrestleMania 36 when he lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre in less than 5 minutes. There were reports that The Beast Incarnate will return for SummerSlam but those plans look to have been cancelled.

The reason for Brock Lesnar's return being further delayed is because unlike what WWE had anticipated, the crowd will not be allowed to return for WWE SummerSlam and it'll take place at the PC much like WrestleMania.

Vince McMahon is not known to be a very social-media-savvy guy but he he took the time out to wish Brock Lesnar a heartfelt happy birthday message on Twitter.

He’s been three-time Universal Champion, five-time WWE Champion, UFC champion and champion in the NCAA. There is only one like him in the world. Happy Birthday, @BrockLesnar!

Brock Lesnar has become WWE's biggest active Superstar and the fans cannot wait for the former Universal Champion to finally make his return as soon as possible.

WWE Hall Of Famer, Edge, suffered a triceps injury during his match with Randy Orton at WWE Backlash. Even though The Rater R Superstar has made it clear that he isn't done with Randy Orton, there is no word on when Edge might actually return to the ring.

Speaking to ComicBook recently, Edge talked about his injury and when he could possibly return.

"I don't know; it was a month yesterday. It's so hard to tell in that initial kind of two months where it's at and where everything is. I've always been happy with the fact that I rebound from injuries pretty quickly. I got back from a torn Achilles in six months which is kind of stupid."

Edge also stated that he doesn't really know when exactly he will be able to return. He said that he will be listenening to his body and make sure he has good care before he makes his return.

"Back to the point of how long? I don't know I'm just going to listen to my body and truly listen to my body, make sure I have self-care, which I never really paid attention to before. Whether that entails yoga, cold plunges, saunas, whatever that is, I just need to do more of it, especially being 46 now."

#1 No creative plans for Tommaso Ciampa in WWE

Ad

Former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa recently posted a heartfelt message on his social media signalling that he has been told that WWE have nothing planned for him. Ciampa was last seen in action at NXT TakeOver: In Your House where he was brutally beaten by Karrion Kross.

Here is what Ciampa revealed about his current situation:

"In 2020, after weeks of being left off the television (yes, I’m healthy), I find myself with a new false dialogue. “Creative has nothing for you”. Whether or not this is true really doesn’t matter. Because in my head, it’s true. In 2018, I willed my vision into existence. Well, today I have a new vision. And surprisingly enough, I’m hungrier than ever. It’s time to evolve. It’s time to catch that next wave and reach that next high."

Ciampa further added that his biggest low in WWE was to give up the title and that everything following that has been a disappointment. Thing could be a hint that Ciampa is planning to go after the NXT Championship when he returns.
