Fresh twist in Randy Orton vs Edge feud?

Ad

Edge vs Randy Orton has been pencilled in for WrestleMania 36 as per reports. The groundwork has been laid for it with the Viper getting eliminated by the Rated-R Superstar at the Royal Rumble.

It became clear on Monday Night RAW the very next night when Edge was taken out by Orton. The former member of the Evolution hit the returning Edge with an RKO and then a Con-Chair-To to rule Edge out for a long time.

Edge is now expected to return just before WrestleMania and WWE are planning to introduce Drew McIntyre in the buildup. The Scottish Psychopath, who is set to face Brock Lesnar at the Show of Shows, is set to be involved in a feud with the Viper next month.

How WWE uses McIntyre in the Edge vs Orton feud only time will tell.

Shelton Benjamin has revealed that he has signed a new deal with WWE. The former Intercontinental champion was talking to Lilian Garcia on her Chasing Glory podcast when he spoke about the new deal.

I just re-signed another multi-year deal with them [WWE]. So, I’m still gonna be here for a little while...

Benjamin returned to WWE back in 2017 after a 6-year absence. His new deal has not been confirmed by WWE just yet but it will not be long before it is announced.

UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz was recently at the WWE Performance Center and rumors soon spread that he was joining WWE. PWInsider now have a report on it and claim that it was just a trial to test the waters.

PWInsider.com is told Ortiz's visit was something of an introductory meeting spread out over several days so Ortiz, a lifelong pro wrestling fan, and WWE could feel each other out and see if the two sides might be able to work together down the line. Ortiz did some pro wrestling training and familiarized himself with the WWE system while there. We are told it was very much a "let's feel each other out" sort of situation.

Ortiz had spoken to PWInsider earlier about a possible move to WWE. The UFC Hall of Famer claimed that he is looking for a match with the likes of Cain Velasquez or Brock Lesnar, who also appeared in MMA.

You know, I've seen that Cain Velasquez is taking the step over to develop pro wrestling, so that would be a good one. Or even someone like Brock Lesnar would be another good one, and vice versa. You come over here, I'd go over there. And you know, whatever they have for my future. I'm willing to work hard and just show that hard work pays off and just dedicate myself to the fight ahead of me.

Shelton Benjamin reveals the 'other side' of Brock Lesnar

Shelton Benjamin was on Lilian Garcia's Chasing Glory podcast and discussed his friendship with Brock Lesnar. He revealed the other side of the WWE Champion and said that he's a fun-loving person and would do anything for a person he likes.

The first time I wrestled Brock I grabbed his leg, he thrusted and I flew halfway across the room! When I met Brock, instantly I liked the guy. He was just a big fun-loving dude. If he likes you, he’ll give you the shirt off his back. If he doesn’t, you’ll know.
We’re pretty good friends. Career paths have split us a bit.... For me, it was a situation where he’s doing his thing and doing very well at it, but I need to focus on me. When I look at Brock I don’t compare myself to Brock. Brock’s a different animal, you don’t compare the lion to the Jaguar... Honestly? I wouldn't limit myself to compare myself to Brock... Brock, Randy, Batista, Cena. That was my class.

Mark Henry gives CM Punk some advice

Mark Henry

Mark Henry doesn't sugar coat anything and offers his honest opinion every single time. He has the ability to spot things that not many observe and that's exactly what happened with CM Punk on WWE Backstage too.

Henry advised Punk to stop working on the analysis part of things and get back to fighting as that is what he is born to do. Talking on Busted Open Radio, he said:

I watched him on WWE Backstage, and I feel like he’s got his hands in his pockets. His arms are folded. I feel like he’s, he’s got to be the focal point, I wish I was on the show, I would challenge him. And I would [say] ‘bro, that’s not who you are. I know you. You’re a fighter. That’s why you quit wrestling. So you could go fight because you wanted to fight. win, lose or draw. What do you like to do in your life? Stir the sh*t and fight. Please do that. That’s what entertains me.’ (H/T SeScoops)

Andrade is still suspended by WWE for his first violation of the company's Wellness Policy. The United States champion will return to action later this month and he is currently working hard in the gym right now.

He has already been announced to be a part of a Gauntlet match at the WWE Super ShowDown PPV in Saudi Arabia this month. He will be joined by AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Rowan, and Rusev in the match.

Posting a selfie on Twitter, Andrade sent a message to the WWE Universe. He wants his fans to support and motivate him. However, if someone has time only to criticize or bring him down, he wants them to stay out of his way.

Support me, motivate me or get out of my way. I start the week and you ? Apóyame, motiva o quítate de mi camino!!! Empezamos la semana y tu ? #Andrade #FaceOfLatinos #MyTime #Diez

Rumors suggest Andrade could be dropping the title soon but he is reportedly high on Paul Heyman's list as well.
