#6 AJ Styles could miss WrestleMania 36

In what could surely be a massive blow to the WWE, AJ Styles' untimely injury could keep him out of WrestleMania.

Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue took to Twitter and provided an update of the Phenomenal One's status.

Tom stated that backstage sources have suggested to him that the former WWE Champion may not be fit in time for the biggest show of the year and his planned 'Mania feud with Randy Orton could be abandoned.

The Orton angle seems to have been dropped as The Viper attacked Edge to close out this week's RAW. Randy Orton is now the favourite to face Edge at WrestleMania 36.

Coming back to Styles, while he can still recuperate in time for 'Mania, the chances of it happening are slim as he reportedly suffered a bad injury.

Styles suffered a shoulder separation in the Royal Rumble match after he landed awkwardly as a result of the bump he took from Edge's spear.

He called an audible and got himself eliminated from the match, after which, he was treated by the WWE medics backstage. At this point, all we can do is to pray to the wrestling gods that Styles makes it back in time for the Show of Shows.

#5 Andrade suspended

As reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Andrade has been handed a 30-day suspension for a wellness policy violation.

Sources tell us Andrade – real name Manuel Oropeza – was suspended this morning. It’s unclear what substance he tested positive for at this time.

This is Andrade's first strike and he is the third name after Robert Roode and Primo Colon to be suspended for a first-time violation in the past few months.

The United States Champion faced Humberto Carrillo on this week's RAW, which was a rematch from the Royal Rumble Pre-show. The US title match ended with Carrillo picking up the win via DQ. Carrillo slammed Andrade's head on the concrete floor after the match, which was effectively done to write El Idolo off TV for a month.

We still don't know whether the suspension will affect Andrade's standing on the roster, however, it is interesting to note that he is one of the Superstars who Paul Heyman favours and wants to push on the Red Brand.

Andrade may be let off without any major repercussions as it is his first violation, however, we'll have to wait for a month to ascertain whether that is true or not.

#4 Paul Heyman changed the winner of the Royal Rumble, original plans revealed

Royal Rumble 2020 was a very well-booked show that ended with Drew McIntyre winning the men's match. The women's match was surprisingly won by Charlotte Flair earlier on in the night after she eliminated the favourite, Shayna Baszler.

Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer Radio that Shayna Baszler and Roman Reigns were originally scheduled to win the Royal Rumble matches but the plans were changed a few weeks ago.

Okay, so I had sort of heard this, so this is confirmed, that Shayna Baszler and Roman Reigns were scheduled to win the two Royal Rumbles and then as they were trying to decide what was going to happen for WrestleMania, the decision was made instead to go with Charlotte Flair and Drew McIntyre.

Because I had not heard Shayna was going to win, I had just assumed that from a lot of different things, and Roman, I just figured Roman for Bray Wyatt. I think it was on the 14th, would have been the day of the change because there was a lot of money being bet on Charlotte Flair on the 14th because originally all the money was coming in on Shayna Baszler

Meltzer also added that the decision to book Drew McIntyre as the Royal Rumble winner was made by Paul Heyman.

So obviously, one main event at WrestleMania, perhaps the main event of WrestleMania is going to be Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre and they went all the way to build that and Drew McIntyre is the guy. Obviously this is a Paul Heyman decision that was made sometime back, I presume Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns is the other main event.

They could have had Roman Reigns win the Royal Rumble because McIntyre was made when he eliminated Lesnar, but it was one of those things where Heyman probably got the main event and everything for that main event. He must have talked to Vince McMahon, 'We've got to make the main event as strong as we can and it's WrestleMania and all that and they didn't have any dream match out there, so this was it and you know, the whole Rumble was to make Brock into this unbeatable monster, I mean the Rumble told a good story.
It was actually a very good Rumble and the story was that Brock is this monster and then Ricochet gave Brock a low blow and that led to Drew McIntyre giving Lesnar the Claymore kick and eliminating him and then, McIntyre went all the way, including throwing out Roman Reigns to win the whole thing.

#3 Samoa Joe injured on RAW

As if AJ Styles' injury didn't cause enough headaches for the WWE management, the company now has to deal with the news of another top Superstar potentially being sidelined due to an injury.

On the RAW after Royal Rumble, Samoa Joe teamed up with Kevin Owens for a RAW Tag Team titles match against Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy.

Joe injured himself as a result of a bad landing from an attempted suicide dive on Buddy Murphy. The Samoan Submission machine couldn't get up instantly and the WWE medics made the call to take him out of the match.

PWInsider reports that Joe suffered a legitimate injury and it was not a part of the booking of the match. Joe being taken out of the match forced the remaining Superstars in the match to improvise and get to the finish.

The decision to remove Joe from the match was made by WWE medical personnel and was 100% legitimate, not something that was booked as part of the match. Everyone involved was pretty much calling the remainder of the bout on the fly.

As things stand, Joe is undergoing medical eximination and we should know the full scope of his injury soon.

#2 Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon may not be on the same page regarding WrestleMania main event

As reported earlier, Paul Heyman is pushing for Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar to be the main event of WrestleMania 36.

Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue has been told by his sources that the Executive Director of RAW is campaiging for the WWE Championship match to headline the PPV, however, Vince McMahon is still leaning towards Roman Reigns vs. The Fiend going last at 'Mania.

#WWE sources have made it clear to me that Paul Heyman is campaigning heavily to have McIntyre main event #WrestleMania. Vince McMahon's preference for the event's main event is still believed to be Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt. #Raw

#1 Big title change nixed

The plans in WWE change with each passing week and many Superstars, unfortunately, miss out on some big moments due to the unforeseen events that take place backstage.

As revealed by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Humberto Carrillo was originally scheduled to win the United States Championship a long time ago from AJ Styles.

However, that didn't happen and Andrade was picked to dethrone AJ Styles.

Meltzer stated:

It wouldn't surprise me that this thing continues and Carrillo gets it back soon enough. The original booking was that Carrillo was going to become the US Champion and things kept getting in the way of that. He originally supposed to win it from AJ. But, you know, things happened and things changed and that's how things happen.
This is supposed to be a lengthy programme, so they didn't want to change the title. And again, I don't know if you're booking this, if you are relegating this match to the pre-show, even though it is at the Rumble and all that, I don't know if I'd want to change the title because the reaction wouldn't be that good. It would probably be better to do it at the TV tapings. So, there you go.

Andrade and Carrillo are expected to have a lengthy programme but with the champ now suspended for a month, we could see another booking change as we approach the biggest PPV of the year.
