WWE Rumor Roundup: Top star suspended, disciplinary action against former champion for backstage fights, Randy Orton heat (20th April 2021)

Welcome to another edition of the daily WWE Rumor Roundup where we try and bring out the biggest rumours and stories from the world of WWE. The week following WrestleMania 37 has been spectacular.

In today's edition, we will take a look at why WWE suspended a 13-time champion over her actions on RAW, backstage heat between Randy Orton and a 5-time WWE Champion and the reason behind WWE sending a superstar for anger management classes. Plus, details on Vince McMahon trying to talk Stone Cold into a return to the ring.

#5 Charlotte Flair suspended by WWE for her actions on RAW

WWE announced that 13-time champion Charlotte Flair had been suspended indefinitely after her action on RAW. The suspension is clearly to advance the storyline of her new character, but it could mean that we won't be seeing The Queen on RAW next week or maybe even for a couple of weeks.

Flair had attacked the referee after her loss to Asuka in the main event of RAW. In a gruesome attack, Flair viciously beat the referee even after other officials intervened and tried to stop her from the assault. WWE official Adam Pearce stated on RAW Talk that Charlotte Flair had been officially and indefinitely suspended for attacking a referee.

Charlotte Flair had returned to RAW last week and boldly claimed that she is "the opportunity in the women's decision." She also attacked Rhea Ripley and Asuka during their WrestleMania 37 rematch on RAW last week.

Flair is going all out with her new heel character and it looks like Charlotte Flair will be getting a shot at the RAW Women's Championship whenever she returns from her suspension.

#4 Former WWE Superstar Sin Cara was sent to anger management

Former WWE Superstar Sin Cara, now known as Cinta de Oro, admitted that he had been sent to anger management because of his backstage behavior. Cara admitted that he had been in altercations with top stars such as Chris Jericho and Sheamus which led to WWE taking disciplinary actions against him.

"Yeah, I got sent to anger management classes. That’s true. And well, I had to do it because I had a couple of altercations throughout my career in the company.''

Speaking to Gary Cassidy of Inside The Ropes, Oro reflected on the problems he has had with superstars and stated that is good friends with Sheamus and Chris Jericho now.

''I did have a couple scuffles with some of them. But to this day, like me and Sheamus are really good friends, me and Jericho have no problem. Simon Gotch, I wish him the best. We’re not friends, but I wish him the best. I don’t wish him nothing bad.''

The former NXT Tag Team Champion said that while he doesn't have anger issues, he completely understands why he was put in anger management classes.

#3 Kurt Angle on his backstage heat with WWE Superstar Randy Orton

Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle spoke on his podcast about a Twitter incident that led to heat between he and Randy Orton. Angle revealed that he had jokingly accused Orton of stealing his finisher in a tweet. However, The Viper did not take kindly to Angle's remarks and became quite furious with the Hall of Famer.

''I got heat from Randy (Orton) for tweeting out one time that he stole my finish and I told him I was just kidding. He was pretty p***** off, but I was just kidding! You know, anybody that wants to come up with a move or wants to do somebody’s move, as long as you’re not in that company you might as well use it.''

On the subject of finishers, Angle said that he has no problem if a younger superstar decides to use his moves. It only helps to expand his own legacy. Citing Apollo Crews using the Angle Slam in WWE, he said that he has no objections to the IC Champion using his move as he is retired.

#2 Booker T comments on WWE releasing Samoa Joe

WWE released multiple superstars last week. Some of the names released included Samoa Joe, Mojo Rawley, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. While most of the superstars who were let go had hardly been used by WWE over the past few months, it came as a shocker that WWE decided to release former US Champion Samoa Joe.

Speaking on Hall of Fame, Booker T was upset that WWE took such a drastic step. He believes that Joe could have been a major asset to the company had he not been released.

''Joe is like me - he's kind of like a utility guy. 'You need me over here, I'll do that; you need me over here, I'll do that.' And be content with actually doing that, not being consumed with: 'Man, I got to get back in the ring, I'm missing the boat.' But, am I surprised that Joe was on the list? I must say 100%, I am. I don't know the ramifications of what happened but I do think it's a loss for the company."

It has been reported that Joe wanted to get back into wrestling while WWE wanted him to stay on as a full-time announcer. This could be one of the reasons behind his release.

#5 Stone Cold reveals Vince McMahon wanted him to return to WWE

Former WWE Champion Stone Cold spoke about his relationship with Vince McMahon while speaking to Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho. Steve Austin revealed that Vince McMahon had tried to bring him out of retirement and wanted him to compete in a match. However, Austin declined the offer as he wanted to stay away from in-ring action.

''I think Vince [McMahon] tried talking me into coming back a couple of times. But you know Chris, I love the business so much – I can’t say I love it more than anybody else, I can only speak for myself. But I just love the damn business, and it hurt me so much to leave it. And to me, going back for one match, being like man, why? What am I proving? ''

The WWE Hall of Famer added that it wasn't about the money. He questioned that if he returned to the ring for just one more match, would the fans remember him for his career or just that match. Austin admitted that he had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that he had left the business and did not want to burst that bubble again.
