Which match will go on last at Fastlane?

WWE Rumors: Potential spoiler about the WWE Fastlane 2019 main event

What's the story?

There's only one stop left on the road to WrestleMania 35. And that is WWE Fastlane, a show that comes our way on 10th March, streaming on the WWE Network.

So in the absence of Brock Lesnar, which match will close out the big show? Fans will be delighted to know that it will be Daniel Bryan and crowd favourite Kofi Kingston, competing for the WWE Championship.

In case you didn't know...

Kofi Kingston was not even supposed to be in the running for the WWE Championship. Unfortunately, an injury to Mustafa Ali would rule him out of the Elimination Chamber match, and allow Kofi Kingston to step it up in a big way.

Kofi Kingston had a great performance during a gauntlet match on SmackDown Live before the Elimination Chamber match. He would go on to almost win the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber, but fall just short.

And now, Kingston and Bryan are scheduled to compete again at Fastlane.

The heart of the matter

According to the Wrestling Observer, as reported by Cageside Seats, the WWE Championship match will go on last. Not only is this a big deal for the two men involved, but the Championship itself that hardly every closed a pay-per-view until now.

Many believe that it is time for Kofi Kingston to shine and WWE could do well by putting the Championship around a man that the crowd truly believes in. But then there's also the matter of Daniel Bryan's new Championship, and it'll be weird to have a title change so soon, considering that the new Championship has just been introduced. This will be a difficult match to call, for sure.

What's next?

One thing is for certain with Daniel Bryan as Champion and with Kofi as the challenger. The WWE Championship program has never felt as relevant as it does now, in quite some time. AJ Styles' second reign did not set the world on fire.

Should Kofi Kingston become WWE Champion at Fastlane? Let us know in the comments below.
