WWE Rumors: Reason why Dean Ambrose refused to join Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins on Raw

What's the story?

It was an extremely emotional episode of Raw as Roman Reigns returned and announced that his leukemia was now in remission. Seth Rollins joined The Big Dog after the announcement and hugged the former Universal Champion while the latter was returning to the back.

However, Dean Ambrose was conspicuously absent during the segment and it has now been revealed by Fightful that it was The Lunatic Fringe's decision to not be a part of the heart-wrenching moment.

In case you didn't know...

Reigns returned to WWE's flagship show for the first time ever since he was forced to relinquish the Universal title on the Raw episode of October 22nd, 2018.

The Big Dog got a standing ovation as he announced his return, much to the surprise of everyone who didn't expect him to return this soon. Nonetheless, WWE has their poster boy back in time for the biggest show of the year and it will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

WWE already dropped a few teasers on this week's Raw and Dean Ambrose had a big role to play in how the booking was perceived.

The Heart of the matter

Sean Ross Sapp of Fighful revealed right after the show that Ambrose made the call to not go out to join Rollins and Reigns during the passionate segment. It's being said that Ambrose was visibly quite emotional backstage during Reigns' announcement, which could be the reason why he decided against joining his Shield brothers.

WWE would slowly want to build towards the reunion considering Ambrose's current situation, which is confusing, to say the least.

He would eventually face Drew McIntyre in a no DQ match later on in the night, which saw Reigns and Rollins save him from a post-match beatdown. However, they left as Ambrose recuperated in the ring, which acted as a teaser for the impending reunion.

What's next?

WWE seems to be building up towards a multi-man tag team match for Fastlane that could see The Shield go up against the team of McIntyre, Lashley, Elias, and Corbin. Braun Strowman may join the Hounds of Justice to even out the playing field.

However, the reunion hasn't completely happened yet and could be the focal point of the next episode of Raw.
