The Big Dog will fight the Best In The World at WWE Super Showdown

WWE Super ShowDown : 3 reasons why Shane McMahon should defeat Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns, the golden boy of Vince McMahon will lock horns with Vince's son, Shane McMahon, at WWE Super ShowDown on 7 June. The reason why this match is taking place is that Roman had hit a Superman Punch on Vince during the final night of WWE Superstar Shake-up 2019.

This assault had angered the Prodigal Son and he has been feuding with the former Universal Champion ever since. Shane had been in a rivalry with the Miz, hence the creative team inserted Elias into the Roman-Shane feud.

Reigns squashed Elias at Money in the Bank and the feud between the Miz and Shane has also seemingly ended, which has led to the announcement of the first ever singles match between the top two guys of SmackDown Live.

When a match between McMahon and the Miz was announced for WrestleMania 35, everyone expected the A-Lister to leave WrestleMania as the winner. However, it was Shane McMahon who won that match in a cheeky manner. Next, WWE booked a Steel Cage match between the two foes and once again Shane McMahon left the arena victorious.

It looks like WWE is trying to build Shane McMahon as the next mega heel of the company and if WWE is seriously moving forward in that direction, they should allow Shane O' Mac to win his match against Roman Reigns at Super ShowDown.

Also, if WWE books Roman Reigns to win the match, then it will destroy Shane McMahon's momentum completely.

#2 Shane McMahon is the only heel on the blue brand who can hand Reigns his first defeat since his return

Roman Reigns dropped a bomb in October 2018 when he made his battle with Leukemia public and relinquished the Universal Championship. Though he was expected to stay out of the ring for a long time, Reigns came back in February 2019 and has been undefeated in singles matches ever since.

His only loss has come in a handicap tag team match when the team of Daniel Bryan, Rowan, Elias, and Shane McMahon beat the team of the Usos and Roman Reigns.

However, Reigns' last singles defeat came way back in July 2018 when Bobby Lashley pinned him clean at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

Well, the 2019 edition of Extreme Rules is approaching and Reigns is yet to lose a singles bout. He has overcome the biggest heels of the company like Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Elias, and Drew McIntyre in that time.

If Reigns does not lose at Super ShowDown, he will have defeated all the top heels of the company. This will create a huge imbalance on the blue brand, thus, it would be great if McMahon emerges as the first man to defeat Roman Reigns in almost a year.

#1 To keep Roman Reigns away from the WWE Championship

Vince McMahon should keep him away from the WWE title

The one reason why the WWE product was becoming staler and staler day by day was the mega push that Roman Reigns was receiving. He was constantly involved in the WWE Championship feuds, and while he was on RAW, he was chasing the Universal Championship all the time.

However, it seems like WWE had recognized their mistake when Roman Reigns was away from the ring, and thus, he is no longer a constant in the main event picture.

If Roman Reigns wins at WWE Super ShowDown, then he will have no more credible opponents on SmackDown. As mentioned earlier, he has defeated all the heels on offer and hence, he will have no other option but to return to the WWE Championship picture.

On the other hand, a Shane McMahon victory will allow WWE to continue the Shane McMahon-Roman Reigns feud, and the addition of Drew McIntyre can make things more interesting. Also, we can see the Miz getting involved in this storyline.
