WWE WrestleMania 36 Night 2: 5 Reasons why Mandy Rose and Otis ended up together as a couple

One has to commend Bruce Prichard for telling such a fantastic story over so many weeks. Otis has had a thing for Mandy Rose for a very long time indeed, and even she reciprocated his feelings by agreeing to go out on a date with him.

But then, he received a text informing him that she would be late and as a result, he would show up to their designated meeting spot at a much later hour. And by that time, Dolph Ziggler had swooped in and made inroads with Mandy Rose.

Of course, it would later be revealed that Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville had conspired to send the text to Otis. But at WrestleMania 36, Otis and Ziggler met in a heated contest that ended with Otis picking up the victory and getting the girl.

So, why has WWE decided to pair up Mandy Rose and Otis in this manner, you rightfully ask?

#5 Feel-good storyline in these really trying times

One of the greatest stories ever told is the one between Beauty and The Beast, that has lasted the test of time and been adapted into various kinds of media because it tells a simple story. The story of a beautiful girl and a man with a big heart but one who may not be nearly as good looking as she is. And at a time when the world is in such a strange place, it needs all the feel-good energy that it can get, in my personal opinion.

How many of us did not smile when Otis and Mandy Rose ended up together? I think that all of us did.

The world needs to feel warm and fuzzy right now, and Otis, Mandy Rose, Dolph Ziggler, and Sonya Deville gave us a great reason to smile.

#4 Allows for a potential mixed tag team match soon

You don't give up on a storyline that has a lot of momentum, in my personal opinion, at least and that's why WWE could keep this going in a big way. Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville could certainly team up to take on Otis and Mandy Rose in a feud that stretches all the way through the summer.

Sonya Deville and Dolph Ziggler could also form a very interesting heel unit. Both of them seem like they like to break the rules, so they could play dirty and could be exposed by the mysterious hooded character who lurks in the background and exposes the truth to the world more often than not.

It makes a lot more sense than Dolph Ziggler going back to teaming up with Robert Roode and going back into the tag team division which is doing well without them. In due course of time, Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville could even conspire to take Braun Strowman down.

#3 Possibility of a whole jealousy angle with Tucky

They say that there is a Shawn and there is a Marty in every single group in WWE. I mean, even if you look at a tag team like Edge and Christian, where both men are considered among the all-time greats, Christian has always lived in the shadows of his real-life best friend.

Even though Heavy Machinery is a red-hot team, it is quite clear who the breakout star of this team is. Otis is guaranteed to be a big deal in WWE for a really long time, for as long as he is healthy while Tucky may do great too, but he's not nearly as over as Otis is, at the moment.

So, maybe a heel run is the best-case scenario for him where Tucky and Otis can work with one another and elevate each other to the next level. And it can all stem from the fact that Otis' head is not in the game because he is far too besotted with his love interest, Mandy Rose to focus on his career.

#2 Otis and Rose are really comfortable with each other

Sharing a kiss is a very intimate act and not everyone would be okay with it, especially if you're a pro wrestler and not necessarily an actor. But in the case of Mandy Rose and Otis, the two of them are very close in real life as well. In fact, Mandy Rose and Otis may be just as close in real life as they are on WWE television.

Mandy Rose had a chance to speak to Digital Spy recently and she had a lot of nice things to say about Otis as a person:

"He's exactly who he is on TV. He's always been like that ever since his NXT days. He'd walk around the Performance Center and he'd call me 'peach' and 'Mandy candy'. The whole 'Mandy candy' and 'peach' thing started in NXT a couple of years ago, it was always really funny, he’d even cut promos on me."

This pretty much indicates that they look forward to working with one another and if, in turn, it helps in them elevating others like Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville, then it's the best-case scenario for all the parties involved.

#1 Officially signals the end of Fire and Desire

Now, Fire and Desire was a team that was formed from the ashes of Absolution which was a group that Paige brought up from NXT. The group had a nice run but I think it is safe to say that the unit is over and done, especially after what Mandy Rose did during the match between Otis and Ziggler.

This split allows Sonya Deville to be a cold-blooded MMA fighter, which should suit her just fine, while Mandy Rose can now become a full-fledged babyface. There was no clarity about whether she was a babyface or a heel considering that she was with Dolph Ziggler until just a while ago.
