Keeping fans on the edge of their seats, Demon Slayer season 3 turned out to be one of the biggest releases of 2023. The upcoming sequel got fans worldwide all excited with Tanjiro's new quest, which is his journey to the Swordsmith Village, a historic place prominent for craftsmanship in forging Nichiring blades
Demon Slayer season 3 has been one of the most awaited sequels since the Entertainment District ended on February 13, 2022. More details about the sequel have been revealed recently, including the episode count.
The number of episodes in Demon Slayer for Season 3, explained
Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 1 aired yesterday, 9th April 2023. The anime is said to have a total of 12 episodes.
Excluding the one that aired yesterday, fans are now left with 11 more episodes. As the anime adapts from the given source material, it will likely not change its order in any way.
Season 1 of Demon Slayer was adapted from 50 manga chapters in its 26 episodes. In Season 2, the Entertainment District Arc was adapted from 30 chapters in its 11 Episodes.
Thus, the Swordsmith Village Arc should cover 25 chapters or so from the manga. If the anime is on the same track, 11 to 12 episodes could be quite possible.
Episode 1 of the anime, as expected, made waves online when it set the stage for major events to follow soon. The episode debuted Mitsuri, a love Hashira, Kokoshibu, Muzan, and much more.
The following arc will focus on Tanjiro’s journey to Swordsmith Village, where he is looking for Haganezuka to repair his Nichirin blade.
Mist Hashira: Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira: Mitsuri Kanroji, two of the most proficient swordsmen, will meet Tanjiro in the Swordsmith Village. The following season will also feature Upper Rank 5: Gyokko and Upper Rank 4: Hantengu as well.
With an overload of characters, unfortunately, the anime will conspicuously sideline Inosuke and Zenitsu. After a captivating performance in the Entertainment District Arc, where both the characters were on the verge of death, it’s better for them to recuperate for a while.
