The Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movies will likely be well-received since the arc is one of the most exciting sections of the story. The entire fanbase is gearing up for the anime adaptation as it will feature some of the most important fights. These fights will feature the strongest Upper Moon demons. Additionally, we will also see the strongest Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, in action.

Manga readers are well aware of all that the story arc offers. Not only is it the most exciting section of the overall story, but it also is the longest arc. This is probably why Ufotable and other members of the team responsible for the production have taken the call to release it as a trilogy of films.

While most netizens are excited about the film’s release, some of them aren’t particularly happy with the format in which they’re presenting the arc. They believe that the movie will fail in one area, and that is the continuity of the story.

The continuity will take a hit since it takes a couple of years to produce a movie like this.

Understanding where the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movies will fall short

In the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movies, the fight scenes are likely to be animated incredibly well because Ufotable has shown us consistency and good quality work. Furthermore, the movies will also feature phenomenal voice actors, who are some of the biggest industry veterans.

From a technical standpoint, the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movies should perform well, and it will. However, there is one area that the movie will suffer in, and that has to do with the continuity of the story.

Continuity is quite important because abruption impedes the viewer’s ability to enjoy the story. Authors take plenty of steps in order to maintain a seamless flow to the overall story. There is a reason why chapters are split into story arcs.

This allows for a particular section of the story to be narrated without any interruptions. This becomes even more important in the anime adaptation since the production team only adapts a particular arc when it is completed.

In this story arc, there are certain important aspects that cannot be interrupted. For example, Mitsuri Kanroji and Obanai Iguro dealt with Nakime just in time, allowing other demon hunters to join the fight against Kibutsuji Muzan.

There are similar instances in the manga that the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movies might mess up simply because of the gap in time between each of the movies.

It would have been ideal to have the Infinity Castle arc adapted in an episode format. This way, Ufotable could release episodes on a weekly basis. It also ensures that fans remember the important pieces of information.

Whereas, fans could forget certain important moments that were shown in the previous film because of the production time for the following movie.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it would have been ideal to have the Infinity Castle arc in an episode format. This would not affect the continuity of the storytelling. The fights in the upcoming arc tend to have a domino effect.

Each fight leads to another and it moves at a rapid pace. The pacing of the arc becomes quite important in this case. Altering the pacing drastically could have an adverse effect on the overall viewing experience.

Granted, the movie might have higher budget and therefore, the fight sequences will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. However, interrupting the flow of the story is a genuine concern for fans.
