Inderjeet Singh wins gold at the Asian Grand Prix Games

This is his fourth gold in 2 months.

Inderjeet Singh seems to be making a habit of winning gold medals. Today he clinched yet another gold, this time at the second leg of the Asian Grand Prix Games being played in Pathumthani, Thailand.

The 26-year-old Haryana athlete hurled in a throw of 19.85m, in the process also breaking the Asian Grand Prix record and finishing .59m ahead of second-placed Guo YanXiang who hurled in a throw of 19.26m. The latter’s fellow countryman Wang Guangfu put in an effort of 18.72m to clinch the bronze.

It has been an unbelievable last couple of months for Inderjeet, who qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics by virtue of his gold medal win at the Federation Cup in Mangalore. He backed that effort with another gold at the Asian Athletics Championships that were held in Wuhan, China with an effort of 20.41m.

Inderjeet further filled his cart with another gold in the opening leg of the Asian Grand Prix Games that were held in Bangkok in Thailand on Monday with a 19.83m effort.
