PV Sindhu suffered yet another early round exit

Following Kidambi Srikanth’s loss, India suffered yet another disappointment as PV Sindhu also exited the 2015 Chines Taipei Open in the second round, losing to Tzu Ying Tai of Chinese Taipei 21-15 21-17 in 32 minutes.

Game 1 proved to be an extremely close contest as both players constantly exchanged leads, but the critical turn in the game came at the 14-14 mark, when Tzu won 4 points on the trot to grab the advantage in her favour and peg the Indian back. That streak of points eventually proved to the difference and Tzu won the opening game 21-15.

In the second Tzu put early pressure on Sindhu, by racing away to an 8-1 lead and then maintained that lead, throughout, even Sindhu tried to force her way back into the match by winning 3 points straight to reduce the deficit to some extent.

Tzu, though, was in no mood to relent and eventually sealed the game and the match to send Sindhu out of the competition.

Ever since Sindhu returned to the court at the Badminton Asian Championships, she hasn't been in her best of forms bowing out of competitions in the early rounds and while it would be too premature to worry about her chances of qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics, she must ensure that she doesn't carry her poor form for a longer period of time and start delivering better performances.
