Saina Nehwal is ecstatic after her win on Sunday

Following her Australian Open triumph at the Sports Centre in Sydney on Sunday afternoon, the whole nation was in congratulatory mode for Saina Nehwal. The Indian got the better of China’s Sun Yu in a pulsating three-game finale to clinch one of the biggest badminton titles of the season.

Messages flooded the 26-year-old's Twitter handle, with some of the biggest names hailing her performance. Among those to congratulate the shuttler for her victory was Indian test skipper and leading batsman Virat Kohli, who expressed happiness for Saina’s win.

In reply, the shuttler said she would like to be as aggressive as the 27-year-old cricketer and added that she is working on that aspect of her personality.

Kohli, who is presently on a break from the game, is very well known in the cricketing circles for the manner of his celebrations after reaching significant landmarks. Although he has mellowed down a bit in recent times, his aggressive persona is something that is still relatable to a lot of his fans.

Following the triumph, Saina will now head home to Hyderabad for a few days before returning to Bengaluru to resume her training for Rio 2016.
