Indian badminton sensation Lakshya Sen won the Scottish Open International Challenge, defeating Brazil's Ygor Coelho to seal his fourth title in three months. Entering the tournament as the top seed, the world number 41 registered an 18-21, 21-18, 21-19 win in 56 minutes to claim the title in Glasgow.

The nail-biting final started with Sen taking a 14-12 lead in the first set. However, Coelho made a resounding comeback to take the set. In the second set, Sen again raced off to a 15-12 lead, but the Brazilian fought back to equal the score at 17-17. The Indian then took the next three points before eventually sealing the second set 21-18, taking the match into a decider.

With the scores tied at 10-10, Sen went on to win five consecutive points to take a big lead in the final set. Coelho once again made a strong comeback to take a slender 19-18 lead. However, Sen kept his composure to take the next three points and seal the match.

The 18-year-old Indian started his year with a silver medal at the Polish Open International Challenge in March. After a series of disappointing exits, Sen went on to win the Belgian International in September, his first title of the year. Within a month, Lakshya won his first BWF Super 100 title at the Dutch Open, with the second one coming soon after, at the SaarLorLux Open in Germany.

One of the top-performing youngsters in the world of Indian badminton, Lakshya also reached a career-high ranking of 41. He will be next seen in action in the Syed Modi International, starting from 25th of November in Lucknow.
