Mulheim an der Ruhr (Germany), March 1 (IANS) Indian shuttler Arvind Bhat struck the form of his life at the $120,000 German Open Grand Prix Gold as he stormed into the men’s singles final here Saturday.

The 34-year-old Bhat caused an upset by defeating Chinese Taipei’s 15th seed Tien Chen Chou 21-12, 12-21, 22-20 in a marathon thriller which lasted 56 minutes at the RWE-Sporthalle.

The Indian now has levelled his career record to 2-2 against the World No.24.

After the World No.87 Indian dominated the first game, Tien returned to comprehensively win the next game and take the match into the decider, which turned out to be a neck-and-neck affair.
