Having started their campaign with glittering gold medals in both the men's and women's team events, the Indian badminton contingent will look to finish on a high by winning four out of the five individual gold medals on offer at South Asian Games 2019 in Pokhara on Friday.
With no women's doubles teams from the country managing to reach the final, India will not be able to make a clean sweep this time, unlike the 2016 edition when they won all the seven possible golds.
In singles, India have already locked down the gold with Siril Verma and Aryaman Tandon setting up an all-Indian men's final. Meanwhile, Ashmita Chaliha and Gayatri Gopichand will lock horns on the women's side.
India's hunt for a gold medal will begin at 11 am local time when the top seeds Dhruv Kapila and Meghana Jakkampudi take on Sri Lanka's second seeds Sachin Premshan Dias Angoda Vidanalage and Thilini Pramodika Hendehewe.
That will be followed by a blockbuster women's singles final between two of India's most promising talents, Ashmita Chaliha and Gayatri Gopichand. The men's singles final will be the third match of the day, where Siril Verma will hope to live up to his top billing when he takes on compatriot, Aryaman Tandon.
The fourth match of the day will be the only one with no Indian interest. The women's doubles final will see two pairs from Sri Lanka fighting it out for the gold. Either Thilini Pramodika Hendehewe-Kavindi Sirimannage or Achini Nimeshika Ratnasiri Kapuru Mudiyanselage-Upuli Samanthika Weerasinghe Pathirage Don will finish on the top podium.
India will resume its quest for gold in the final match of the day when the highly talented men's doubles combine of Dhruv Kapila and Krishna Prasad Garaga take the court against Sachin Premshan Dias Angoda Vidanalage and Buwaneka Tharindu Dullew Dumbukola Goonathilake of Sri Lanka.
