Video: BWF China Masters take place

China won four gold medals on home soil at the BWF China Masters in Changzhou, East China Jiangsu province on Sunday afternoon (September 15th).

The Finals of the BWF China Masters was held at the Olympic Sports Centre in Chagnzhou.

The women’s singles final proved to be the most exciting event of the day.

World Number 18 Porntip Buranaprasertsuk from Thailand, who upset Li Xuerui in the semifinals took on Liu Xin.

The Thai player was thrashed 21-4 in the first game but won the second 20-13 forcing a third games.

Liu won the mental battle between the two players in the third game beating her opponent in a thrilling match 24-22.

It was Liu’s first Super Series title.

The final of the men’s singles was also a nervy, the match lasting 75 minutes.

China’s Wang Zhengming saved three match point and came back to best Won Ho Son of South Korea.

The men’s doubles final saw the top two seeded couples face each other and top seeded South Korea never gave Japan a chance as they won in two games.

In the mixed doubles, Olympics champions China beat South Korea in straight games.

Finally, in the women’s doubles the final saw an all-Chinese affair.

Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang proved they are still the number duo in the world as they beat Ma Jin and Tang Jinhua in straight games to win their third Super Series title of the year.
