Braves send SS Swanson to the 10-day DL
Dansby Swanson is battling a wrist injury in a blow to the Atlanta Braves in MLB.
The Atlanta Braves sent shortstop Dansby Swanson to the 10-day disabled list with left wrist inflammation.
In a corresponding move, Atlanta recalled outfielder Preston Tucker from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Swanson, 24, a former top prospect, struggled last year – his first full MLB season – but had shown signs of promise early this year, batting .289 with two home runs and two stolen bases through 28 games.
Atlanta have displayed an impressive number of young, talented players this season, led by Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, Sean Newcomb and Swanson.

The Braves (19-11) currently lead the National League East by 1.5 games over the Mets, but they will have to find a temporary replacement for Swanson's offensive and defensive prowess.
