The Chicago Cubs celebrate a win in MLB

The Chicago Cubs rallied to beat the St Louis Cardinals 9-6 in MLB action on Thursday.

Chicago used a five-run fifth inning to overcome St Louis at Wrigley Field following the All-Star break.

The Cubs trailed 3-1 in the fifth but Ian Happ's two-run homer highlighted Chicago's comeback.

Chicago have now come from behind to win 31 times this season – the most in MLB ahead of the Boston Red Sox (28).

Boasting the best record in the National League, the Cubs – three games clear of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central – have now won 13 of their last 16 games.

The Cardinals are third and eight-and-a-half games behind.
