Dodgers acquire Darvish from Rangers
Pitcher Yu Darvish is headed to Los Angeles from the Texas Rangers in a huge boost to the Dodgers in MLB.
In a shock move, the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Texas Rangers starting pitcher Yu Darvish as Monday's MLB trade deadline reached its final moments.
The Rangers received prospects Willie Calhoun, A.J. Alexy and Brendon Davis in return.
Darvish, who is set to become a free agent after this season, was one of the most sought after pitchers among contending teams.
The Dodgers already have the best record in baseball, but Clayton Kershaw is on the disabled list, and Darvish will give them an elite arm while Kershaw heals.

Darvish was rocked for 10 earned runs in his last start, but he had a 3.44 ERA before that outing, and he has 148 strikeouts in 137 innings pitched this season.
Both Los Angeles' rotation and bullpen appear deep and dangerous, which sets them up nicely for a potential World Series run.
