The Los Angeles Dodgers pulled the trigger on free agent pitcher Alex Reyes. The All-Star closer will be joining the team on a one-year, $1.1 million contract. Reyes became a free agent after the St. Louis Cardinals didn't offer him a contract for the 2023 season.

The contract comes with a club option in 2024. There are also incentives at play that could up the contract's value to $10 million.

Reyes missed all of 2022 with a shoulder injury that required surgery. It was a tough blow after he was lights out in 2021, being named to his first All-Star game.

2022 wasn't the first time Reyes had dealt with injuries. He's been plagued by trips to the IL in his seven seasons in St. Louis.

"Yes!! Massive upside. Love the last few moves," one fan tweeted.
"Love this move," said another fan.

Los Angeles Dodgers fans believe their pitching coach, Mark Prior, can get Reyes back to his All-Star form. He was one of the most highly touted prospects coming into the league in 2016.

This acquisition could be huge for the Dodgers, who are no strangers to getting the most out of their pitchers. If this stays true, they will get an absolute steal by signing Alex Reyes.

Watch out for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season

While the regular season was a dream for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the playoffs were a nightmare. They finished the regular season with the league's best record of 111-51. All the signs led to them capturing their eighth World Series title, but the San Diego Padres eliminated them from contention.

They lost in the National League Division Series, 3-1. It was such a disappointing end to the season. Nobody expected the Dodgers to fall flat on their faces in the postseason. Now that 2022 is behind them, they'll surely come out looking for revenge this season.

It's going to be interesting to see how this team compares to last year's team. The Dodgers will be without All-Star shortstop Trea Turner. Turner was a free agent and signed a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a core member of the team's success.

The Dodgers will be playing with a chip on their shoulders this season. They can't get through another successful regular season with nothing to show for in the postseason.
