Morales nearing MLB record with homes in seven successive games
Kendrys Morales set a Toronto Blue Jays record after hitting another home run against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.
After a slow start to the MLB season, Morales has now hit a home run in seven successive games – a Blue Jays record.
It is just one off an MLB record held by Ken Griffey Jr. (1993), Don Mattingly (1987) and Dale Long (1956), while it is the longest since Kevin Mench in 2006.
Morales has eight home runs in his last seven games and now has 21 for the season.
The Blue Jays' (60-70) five-game winning streak ended with an 8-3 loss to the Phillies.
While the Blue Jays have become sellers in the ultra-competitive American League East, Morales has given the Toronto faithful something to cheer about.
