Rangers to retire Beltre's number 29 in June
The Texas Rangers will retire Adrian Beltre's number 29 during a ceremony on June 8, the team announced on Tuesday.
The ceremony will take place before Texas' game against the Oakland Athletics at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Beltre announced his retirement in November.
Beltre played 21 MLB seasons and spent his last eight years with the Rangers. He slashed .304/.357/509 in 1,098 games with Texas. He also hit 199 home runs and tallied 699 RBIs.
The four-time All-Star also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox. He won four Silver Sluggers and five Gold Glove awards.
The Rangers have retired three other numbers, including Nolan Ryan's 34.
