Red Sox star Betts placed on 10-day DL with abdominal strain
Mookie Betts has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a left abdominal strain, the Boston Red Sox announced on Friday.
He is eligible to return on June 8 as the stint is retroactive to May 29.
Betts has not had an at-bat since May 26 when he first suffered the injury.
The 25-year-old currently leads MLB in batting average, slugging percentage and on-base plus slugging (OPS).

The Red Sox are 3-1 in Betts' absence.
Boston face off with Houston on Friday and play the defending World Series champions again on Saturday and Sunday.
