Defending champions Tunisia are all set to face Egypt in the Eight Final Round of the ongoing 2013 AfroBasket at the Cote d’Ivoire’s capital city of Abidjan. With the completion of the preliminary round of the championship, all participating 16 African nations entered the Eight Final Round of the championship. Eight Final Round will be played in knock-out format, with winners advancing to the quarter-finals of the championship.

  3. Cote d’Ivoire vs Burkina Faso
  4. Angola vs Mali
  5. Tunisia vs Egypt
  6. Cape Verde vs Republic of Congo
  7. Senegal vs Rwanda
  8. Nigeria vs Central African Republic

16 African Nations are fighting for the prestigious title of 2013 FIBA Africa Championship for Men and, most importantly, for the three spots for the Spain 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup scheduled to be held at Spain next year. The 2013 edition of AfroBasket is being held at Cote d’Ivoire’s capital city of Abidjan from 20 to 31 August 2013. Since the FIBA Basketball World Cup increased the numbers of teams from 16 to 24 in 2006, Africa has gained one more place and the top three African teams secure direct qualification to the event.

Two years ago, Tunisia stunned Angola in the final of the AfroBasket in Madagascar to claim their first continental title ever.
