Wilt Chamberlain is widely acclaimed as the most dominant player in the history of basketball. A career filled with accolades - a 2-time NBA champion, 4-time NBA MVP, 13-time NBA All-Star, 7-time NBA scoring champion, 11-time rebounding champion. He also holds the record for highest points per game in a rookie-season with 37.6 and accumulated 2707 points in 72 games.

He played in the NBA for 14 years and made it to the post-season, a ridiculous 13 times. He averaged 30.1 points, 22.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game over his career. The two-time NBA champ was also the assists leader in 1968.

His Jersey No.13 was retired by the Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, and the Los Angeles Lakers. He is currently 5th on the all-time leaders list of triple-doubles.

The San Francisco Warriors were 5-1 in the 1962-63 season and had only beaten the New York Knicks just a night before in a blowout game. They came to Los Angeles for a regular-season game against the Lakers. Wilt Chamberlain erupted for game-high 72 points despite losing the game. The duo of Jerry West-Elgin Baylor went red-hot for Lakers combining for 79 points on 35-68 shooting.

Wilt's 72 points performance came on a 29-48 shooting with a field-goal percentage of 60.4. He also pulled down a game-high 18 boards (tie) without committing any fouls. The 4-time MVP attempted 18 free-throws and made 14.

Though the Warriors were up 2 points at the half-time, the Lakers came back stronger in the second half and the duo of West-Baylor made some key plays. The Warriors could not eventually get the win as Lakers beat them quite comfortably, 115-127.

The San Francisco Warriors were on a 2-game losing streak and visited New York to face the Knicks. New York had a bad start to their season and were 3-12. Wilt shone again with a monster performance scoring 73 points in a 16-point win.

Wilt was highly efficient and shot 29-43 from the field, with a field-goal percentage of 67.4 and also had 14 rebounds in this one. The entire roster only made 22 shots while Wilt alone made 29. He was 15-19 from the free-throw line.

Though the Knicks only trailed by 7 going into half-time, Warriors came back stronger in the third and fourth quarters and stretched the lead. As a result, the Warriors blew out the Knicks by 16.

The Warriors lost a game against Cincinnati Royals just a night before this one and were looking for a win. The 13-time All-Star dominated like only he could and exploded for 78 points in a win against the Packers.

Wilt shot the ball well and went for 29-48 from the field, with a field-goal percentage of 60.4 while also recording 36 rebounds in this game. The Packers had no answer for Wilt's explosive performance. The two-time NBA champion went to the free-throw line 25 times and converted 15 of those attempts.

With this win, the Warriors improved to 26-19. Wilt ended up getting named to All-NBA First Team although his team could not win a championship that year.

The Los Angeles Lakers visited Philadelphia in December for a game against the Warriors, who had dropped their previous game at home to St.Louis Hawks and were looking to get back on track. Wilt Chamberlain erupted for then record 78 points in the game but the Lakers down the Warriors in a close game.

Wilt went for 31-62 from the field with a field-goal percentage of 50.0 and played all 63 minutes in this triple-overtime thriller. He also pulled down 43 boards to go along with an assist. Chamberlain made 31 trips to the free-throw line and made 16 of those.

Barring the 7-time NBA scoring champion, no one made their mark in the game for Warriors. For Lakers, Elgin Baylor dropped 63 points and Jerry West scored 32 points, the duo combined for 95 points.

#1 100 vs New York Knicks, March 2nd, 1962

The Philadelphia Warriors entered this game after winning by 9 against the Chicago Packers and improved to 45-29. Wilt dropped 61 points in that game and grabbed 28 boards. A night after that, Wilt did something no one has ever done.

He exploded for 100 points on a 36-63 shooting, with a field-goal percentage of 57.1. Wilt also had 25 rebounds and 2 assists. This is one of the most prestigious records in basketball and is highly unlikely to be broken. Chamberlain played all 48-minutes of the game and committed two personal fouls. He attempted a ridiculous 32 free-throws and sank 28 of those.

The 4-time NBA MVP scored 31 points in the fourth quarter and shot 12-21 from the field. The Warriors won the game, 169-147 because of Wilt's heroics. Only Kobe Bryant came close to breaking this record when he scored 81 points against the Chicago Bulls in 2006.
