This article is not for a basketball fan, no. It's for the people yet to experience the exhilarating beauty of a powerful yet elegant sport, that is Basketball. The joy of watching a 250-pound man flying through the air to slam the ball into a ring, fixed 10 feet above the ground.

That seems delirious when you read it out loud doesn't it? But that's a very common yet thrilling site in Basketball.

Now, basketball is Amazing to watch, whether we're talking about College Basketball, The European Leagues or the famed NBA. But for this article, I'm going to focus on the NBA as it's undoubtedly the best of the several Basketball leagues around the globe. Allow me to introduce you to the world, where men fly..

#1 LeBron James and Other "Meta-Humans"

LeBron James

If I had just 2 words to describe my favorite part about watching NBA, I'll readily say "King James". Yes, that's another name for the beast of human being that is LeBron James and the name fits him so perfectly. Often considered best in the world, the man from Ohio annihilates opposition defenses at will day in, day out. A behemoth weighing 250 pounds and standing 6 feet 8 inches tall, James is a mix of the agility of a Ferrari and the might of a Tank.

Don't believe me? Spare a few minutes of your time and watch the video below, trust me, you'll be singing praises for the King after this.

And good news!

James is not the only one as there are many great players across the NBA that are superhuman entertainers like Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and James Harden. The list goes on. If I were you, I'd be convinced already. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch these ballers glide across the court every night. If not for the sport itself, the sheer spectacles these beasts produce each night on the court should be reason enough to give NBA a try.

#2 Relentless High-Octane Action

It's complete End-to-End and non-stop action. You merely have time to blink during a game and for impatient people like me who can't wait 30 seconds between consecutive deliveries in a game of Cricket, Basketball is the perfect sport to watch.

And with the quality of players in the NBA, you will never be able to look away. Believe me, you wouldn't want to. It takes mere seconds for the ball to travel from one end of the court to another, and defense turns into attack instantly. With timeouts shorter than 100 seconds and a 15-minute break that is necessary to catch your breath, the games keep you glued to the screen without giving you a chance to check that notification on your phone.

I wouldn't be surprised if you spent some time on Youtube watching more highlight reels from NBA, but believe me, watching a game is no different because there are fireworks throughout the game. It's like watching Cristiano Ronaldo hitting thunderbolts from 30 yards every 15 seconds or Messi humiliating defenders with every dribble.

Wouldn't that be great to watch? A game in NBA can give you that constant rush, and you'll become an addict in no time.

#3 Money, celebrities and Glamour

NBA is currently one of the most followed Domestic Sports Leagues in the world, and its popularity continues to rise every day. The high-profile glamour of NBA is evident due to the fact that the players in NBA are among the best-paid athletes in the world, both individually and on average. Not to mention the stars from Hollywood or Football who often grace the arena with their presence. Celebrities like Rihanna, David Beckham, the Kardashians and even Prince William with Kate Middleton have been found courtside.

The amount of money associated with NBA is huge, almost obscene! In the list of highest-paid athletes of 2017 by Forbes, 4 out of the 10 players were from NBA. That was more than athletes from any other sports, as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and James Harden all made the cut. LeBron James, only behind the current Ballon d'Or holder Cristiano Ronaldo made a whopping 86.2 million dollars in Wages and Endorsements combined. With the ever-increasing fame and fan-following, those figures are only going to rise.

Once a fan, always a fan. It's the same philosophy that draws celebrities towards the court as many stars regularly fill the seats courtside. The leading Pop artist Rihanna has been often found watching the game live with intent and even stole the show with her Dab during Game 1 of NBA Finals in 2017.

You just can't argue with the fact that NBA has more fans in the Hollywood than any other sport or league out there.

#4 The Slam-Dunk Contest!

If you don't know what a dunk in Basketball is, you've been missing one of the great joys of life. If you haven't seen a slam-dunk in your life, you'll thank me after reading this for introducing you to one of the most thrilling phenomena in sports. Without more blabbering, I'll let you watch the video below and decide if I've been exaggerating. Enjoy 4 minutes of ecstasy featuring the King, LeBron James.

And that's why he's the King. If you loved the video, the power game involved in the dunks, I got news for you. Once every year, best of the best in the NBA get together for something called the Slam-Dunk Contest.

For one night, the laws of physics are completely defied and the force of gravity ceases to exist on the court. Creativity is set free and the participants come up with the most thrilling spectacles on the night. It's here that Micheal Jordan got his name "Air Jordan". It's here that Spud Webb, who was only 5'7" shocked the world by winning the competition against all odds.

But wait, there's more! Another equally satiating experience is watching the All-star game when the ballers from different teams come together, and we witness the clash of heavyweights flying inches above the floor all night long. You just can't put to words, the stakes involved when you get to see the likes James Harden, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and LeBron James on the same court together. The game always leaves the viewers either speechless or roaring with joy.

#5 Adrenaline, Emotions and Athleticism

The sheer athleticism of the stars is amazing to witness. If the great sculptor Michelangelo had been born in our time, he would have immortalized these behemoths in marble. And what makes the games better is the unpredictability, the fact that the match can end up in any team's favor even if the odds are against them. Even if a team leads by 10 points in the final quarter, there's still a very good chance of making a come back and stealing the thunder from their opponents. So you can never be too sure or too complacent when it comes to a ball-game in the NBA. One such game where a comeback of epic proportions was witnessed was when Stephen Curry tipped the game in favor of the Golden State Warriors almost single-handedly with 40 points. The warriors came back from a deficit of 25 points against the Spurs to win the game 113-111.

The sentiments attached to every point, every dunk and every game are evident by the sounds of thunderous roars inside the arena. Fans and players completely shunt out the world outside for four quarters and the sheer intensity of aggression, passion and the love for this sport oozes from every corner of the arena. The NBA boasts of one of the most passionate fan-base around the world and it's clearly visible during a game and why not? Even though there are many more reasons to become a fanatic follower of the NBA, I'll now leave it up to you. Because I am certain, that once you discover the joys of watching this sport, you'll be hooked within no time at all. And you'll finally witness, A World Where Men Fly
