Atlanta Hawks (4-13): 113-125 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves (Monday, 25 November 2019)

Atlanta Hawks Preview

The Atlanta Hawks are headed for another lottery pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Their ability to win matches has been hindered because of a 25-game suspension to John Collins for violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy.

The Hawks are 2-6 on the road and 1-9 in their last 10 games. Monday night, they lost 125-113 to the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Trae Young recording 37 points and 9 assists. Jabari Parker had 22 points in that loss.

Key Player – Trae Young

Trae Young is having an outstanding sophomore year, even if the Atlanta Hawks are not a good team. While Young was bested for the 2019 Rookie of the Year Award by Luka Doncic (the player he was traded for at the 2018 draft), he has been filling out the stat sheet quite nicely in his time as an Atlanta Hawk.

So far this season, Young is averaging 26.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Hawks predicted lineup

Trae Young, Cam Reddish, De’Andre Hunter, Jabari Parker, Damion Jones

Milwaukee Bucks Preview

The Milwaukee Bucks, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, are 14-3 on the year and currently own the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. Monday night Antetokounmpo was simply amazing, scoring 50 points on 17 made field goals.

The Greek recorded a double-double with 14 rebounds, and led the way for the Bucks’ 4-point victory over the Jazz.

Antetokounmpo is the reigning MVP of the NBA and is making a case to be named so again in 2020. Even keeping aside his 50-point performance on Monday, Atetokounmpo is the clear cut superstar of the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks would be a very different team without his double-double average of 31.1 points, 13.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.

Bucks predicted lineup

Eric Bledsoe, Wes Matthews, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez, Donte DiVincenzo

Hawks vs Bucks Match Prediction

The Atlanta Hawks are 2-6 on the road this season and are also on a seven-game losing streak. Conversely, the Bucks are both 8-2 at home and against Conference rivals, as well as riding an eight-game winning streak.

The Hawks will need to value their possessions as they are 29th in the NBA turning the ball over 17.7 times a game. They are led in this category by their offensive leader Trae Young, who is averaging 4.9 a game.

The Bucks meanwhile need to be judicious in their three-point shooting; while they take the second most three-pointers in the NBA, they make just 34.1 percent - which is 23rd in the league.

The Bucks are second to the Toronto Raptors in fast-break points, averaging 18.8 per game, but that number rises to 21.7 when they play at home.

The Milwaukee Bucks should extend their winning streak to nine straight on Wednesday night against Atlanta.
