Cavaliers select Sexton with number eight overall pick
The Cleveland Cavaliers made their first pitch to keep LeBron James by selecting Alabama point guard Collin Sexton with the number eight overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Sexton, a one-and-done with the Crimson Tide, averaged 19.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game last season.
James has the ability to opt out of his contract this offseason, thus becoming a free agent.
Sexton serves a need as a true point guard, but he may not have a superstar to pass to next season.
Not known as a three-point shooter, Sexton has the ability to put the ball on the floor, shoot and dish to open team-mates.
