Paul George is one of the top 5 two-way players in the league and is known for his ability to impact the game on both ends of the court. The five-time All-Star had a decorated career with the Indiana Pacers and led the team to playoffs six times during his stint.

After getting traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, he had an impressive first season with the franchise and signed a four-year $137 million contract in the off-season. He is averaging 23.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game to start the 2018-19 season.

In the absence of point guard Russell Westbrook, George led the team brilliantly and the Oklahoma City Thunder are currently at the third spot on the Western Conference Standings. Let us take a look at four of Paul George's highest-scoring games in the NBA so far.


#3 43 at Portland Trail Blazers, December 2, 2013

Both the Portland Trail Blazers (14-3) and the Indiana Pacers (16-1) got off to a hot start in the 2013-14 season. They were both dismantling the oppositions and this was a matchup everyone was waiting for. Paul George exploded for 43 points but the Blazers had the last laugh.

George started the game with a three-pointer to give the Pacers a three-point lead. He then made a mid-range jumper to extend the Pacers' lead to five points. He was very efficient in the first quarter and with 2:41 remaining, he knocked down yet another mid-range jumper to extend the Pacers' lead to nine points.

George finished the game with 43 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists on 53.3 % shooting but could not get the win, thanks to Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge who combined for 54 points on 18-for-36 shooting.

Paul George was impressive in the game against the Washington Wizards on the road but the Wizards won the game, even without John Wall. Two nights later, they were up against the Denver Nuggets in a game at the Pepsi Center.

The Nuggets jumped to an early lead in the first quarter and at the 4:17 mark, George knocked down an open three-pointer to cut the deficit to 4 points. Apart from him, no one showed up for the Thunder and the Nuggets went into the halftime with a 72-57 lead.

In the fourth quarter, with the Thunder down by 6 points and 1:24 remaining, George made a huge three-pointer to create panic in the crowd. He then followed it up with a beautiful layup to cut the deficit to just one point.

The 5-time All-Star was not done and with just 1.4 seconds remaining in the game, he made a step-back three-pointer shot to tie the game. However, the Thunder lost the game on a game-winning three-pointer by Gary Harris and another Paul George's offensive explosion ended in a loss.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were on a three-game winning streak and were at the third spot in the Western Conference Standings. Coming off a fresh win on the road against the Detroit Pistons, they were in Brooklyn, to take on the Nets at the Barclays Center.

Paul George exploded for 47 points on an eye-catching 15-for-27 shooting, including a ridiculous 25 points in the forth quarter to help the Thunder complete a 23-point comeback win. He also hit the game-winning three-pointer with 3 seconds remaining and his 25 points in the forth quarter is the Thunder franchise record for the most points in any quarter.

George's hot performance helped the Thunder clinch the forth quarter, 39-19 and took the game away from the Nets single-handedly. This was George's career-high night with the Thunder franchise. They have now improved to 16-7 on the season.

Paul George had a night to forget against the Trail Blazers when the Indiana Pacers visited Portland. However, two nights after that horrible performance, he exploded for career-high 48 points against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.

He started the game with a mid-range jumper before following it up with a 360 dunk. In the second quarter, with the Pacers down by three points, George pulled up from the elbow region to cut the deficit to one point.

George finished the game with 48 points on 15-for-27 shooting, including ridiculous 8-for-11 from the three-point line. He also went 10-for-13 from the free-throw line. For the Utah Jazz, Derrick Favors answered with 35 points of his own and the Pacers lost the game, 122-119.
