Steph Curry recently dropped 50 points against the LA Clippers as the Golden State Warriors lost 134-126 on Wednesday night. His most recent accomplishment marks Curry's 12th 50-point game of his career.

Achieving 50 points or more is no easy feat, especially in today's NBA. The league has evolved into a more highly competitive sport than it already was back in the day. With that in mind, there are many more talented players in the league today, which makes it more difficult to nonchalantly drop over 50 points on a regular basis.

Having said that, Steph Curry is one of those special individuals in the league who's lucky enough to even score that much on multiple occasions. But which NBA superstar has Steph joined in the list of the most 50-point games scored by a player?

Steph Curry recently climbed up the ladder in the most 50-point games in NBA history. He just overtook Allen Iverson on the list and is now the only one ranked 9th in history with 12 50-point games. Before moving up, Iverson was tied at 9th place with Curry with 11 games a piece.

The most impressive number of 50-point games in league history is held by none other than the scoring machine, Wilt Chamberlain. He holds the record for 118 games, which is most likely never going to be replicated ever again. Scoring points in the NBA is no longer as easy as it used to be, especially now that there are many elite defenders in modern-day basketball.

Notable players after Wilt Chamberlain’s 118 games are as follows:

  • Michael Jordan - 31 games
  • Kobe Bryant - 25 games
  • James Harden - 23 games
  • Damian Lillard - 15 games
  • LeBron James - 14 games

LeBron James is currently tied with Rick Barry in 7th place with 14 games apiece. Given that Steph Curry is still capable of coming up with a few more 50-point games in the seasons to come, he could likely overtake the “King” at some point in his career. Curry might even surpass Damian Lillard’s record at some point.
