Qatar: Al Gharafa win 2014 QBF Emir Cup

Al Gharafa created history in Qatari basketball as it defeated Al Jeish 89 – 87 to lift the 2014 Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) Emir Cup and winning all the three major titles in same season in Qatar. Al Gharafa had earlier won the 2013-14 QBF League beating Al Sadd in the final and also won the 2014 Qatar Cup beating Al Rayyan in the title round.

Al Jeish started well in the final by taking the first quarter 26 – 17 and also dominated the second quarter to go into the halftime break leading 49 – 36. Al Gharafa came out strong after the break to take the third quarter 22 – 15. Al Gharafa also took the last quarter 31 – 23 to win the final 89 – 87 and lift the title of 2014 Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) Emir Cup.

QBF Emir Cup is one of the prestigious basketball competitions in Qatar and organized annually by QBF. The 2014 edition saw the top 10 professional basketball clubs of Qatar battling it out for basketball supremacy in Qatar.
