Steelers receiver Smith-Schuster replaces Brown in Pro Bowl
JuJu Smith-Schuster has been named to the NFL Pro Bowl as a replacement for Pittsburgh Steelers team-mate Antonio Brown.
Brown – who is reportedly set to leave the Steelers – will miss the game due to injury, paving the way for Smith-Schuster to be added to the roster for his first Pro Bowl appearance.
Smith-Schuster ranked second in the AFC with 111 catches and third in the conference with 1,426 yards. The 22-year-old wide receiver scored seven touchdowns.
He was also named the Steelers' MVP by players, a decision that reportedly angered Brown and may have sparked the whole series of events that led to him being benched for the season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Other Steelers' Pro Bowl selections are running back James Conner, defensive lineman Cameron Heyward and offensive linemen Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro and Alejandro Villanueva.
The Pro Bowl will be played in Orlando on January 27.
