Times edge past Budhanilkantha to remain unbeaten and claim top spot in the Nepal Basketball League

Times International Club edge past Budhanilkantha Municipality Basketball Club 83 – 77 in their 9th match to remain unbeaten and claim the top spot in the ongoing Nepal Basketball League 2019 here at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Playing at home court, Times International Club was put on extreme pressure by the visitors Budhanilkantha Municipality Basketball Club since the beginning of the match. As a result, the first quarter score was even with both teams scoring 18 points each. Budhanilkantha Municipality Basketball Club was even stronger as they rallied past to take the second quarter 21 – 14.

Going to the half time break, the unbeaten Times International Club was trailing by 7 points with the score 39 – 32 in favor of Budhanilkantha Municipality Basketball Club.

After the break, Times International Club came out strong and took the third quarter 30 – 14 to make the score 62 – 53 and took the lead of 9 points going to the final quarter. Budhanilkantha Municipality Basketball Club took the last quarter 24 – 21 but was not enough to beat the unbeaten Times International Club.

Captain of Times Basketball Club Sadish Pradhan was declared man of the match for his 21 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds which helped his team remain unbeaten in the league.

So far, Times International Club has played nine matches and won all nine matches while Budhanilkantha Municipality Basketball Club has played 10 matches and won four and lost six.

Nepal Army Club will play Golden Gate International Club while South Siders Basketball Club will face Nepal Police Club next in the Nepal Basketball League 2019.

Total of eight teams are participating the 2nd edition of Nepal Basketball League 2019 which will run from 27 April to 22 June 2019.
