Indiana Pacers v Washington Wizards
OTTO PORTER IN ACTION FOR THE WASHINGTON WIZARDS

The deals are coming through thick and fast on the NBA trade deadline day as the Washington Wizards and the Chicago Bulls have been involved in a trade which sees Otto Porter Jr move to the Bulls while Bobby Portis & Jabari Parker join the Wizards. The Wizards will also receive a 2023 second-round pick.

BAD TRADE FOR THE WIZARDS

This news comes just a day after the Wizards lost John Wall for a year, This move was to get rid of Porter's salary but the Wizards could and should have got a better deal.

GOOD DEAL FOR THE BULLS

Otto Porter Jr is a player with All-Star potential and always plays well when he's fit and they have hardly given up much to acquire him. This deal could very well be a steal for the Bulls and It will be interesting to see how he fits in at Chicago considering he is definitely an upgrade to Holiday.

WHAT NEXT FOR BOTH TEAMS?

It's clear that the Wizards plan to cut salary and restructure the team, Besides this trade, Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Markieff Morris is headed to the New Orleans Pelicans in a deal that could hold significant financial ramifications for the Wizards' cap sheet moving forward. They have brought in two solid scorers and got rid of a big contract so this trade might actually not be that bad.

Porter's contract status is unclear but along with Carter and Markkanen, the Bulls could have a promising front-court trio. Porter could have some untapped potential which helps him break out and improve for the Bulls. He is not a $24 million player but he is a modern Small Forward who can defend and also hit the 3.

Both teams are languishing close to the bottom of the Eastern Conference and will hope to do better next season.
