It is every team's dream to feature in the cricket World Cup which is held once every four years and is the biggest event of the sport. While the number of associate nations in the World Cup has always been a controversial topic, the 2019 World Cup will see none of the associate teams participating due to the reduced number of teams. However, these associate nations had made their presence felt when they played in the World Cup and 4 teams even managed to win a World Cup Match.

East Africa made its only appearance at the World Cup in 1975 when it was held for the first time. Grouped with England, New Zealand, and India in Group 'A', the East African side lost all its matches to be knocked out of the tournament. They lost their first match to New Zealand by 181 runs and were squashed by India in the second match as they suffered a heavy 10 wicket defeat. England humiliated them by 196 runs in their last ever World Cup match. Currently, the East African team doesn't even exist.

#3 Bermuda - 3 Losses

Bermuda

Bermuda made history by qualifying for the 2007 World Cup and were a part of Group B along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and India. They lost their first match to Sri Lanka by 243 runs as they were bundled out for 78 while chasing 322. In the second match, India posted a mammoth 413/5 in the first innings and Bermuda struggled to tackle the skilled Indian bowlers as they fell short by 257 runs.

Virender Sehwag scored 114 in the match but Leverock's catch to dismiss Robin Uthappa was the highlight of the game. They lost by 7 wickets to Bangladesh in a rain-curtailed match as they failed to perform well in the tournament.

The American nation has since then never appeared at the World Cup though they have continued playing in the Associate leagues of the ICC.

#2 Namibia - 6 Losses

The African Nation, Namibia, conquered all odds to make it to the 2003 World Cup which was hosted in their own continent. However, they failed to win even a single match despite playing 6 matches against 6 different opponents.

They even lost their match against Zimbabwe and the Netherlands to come out of the tournament empty-handed. Though they had defeated Bangladesh before the World Cup, Namibia hardly gave a fight to any side. They were crushed by 86 runs by Zimbabwe in their opening match before Pakistan defeated them by 171 runs.

England won their match against Namibia by 55 runs while the African side could not even match Sachin Tendulkar's total in their game against India. They were bundled out for 45 in their chase of 302 against Australia and even lost to the Netherlands in their final World Cup match.

#1 Scotland - 14 Losses

Scotland have played 3 Cricket World Cups so far with 1999 being their first appearance and 2007 and 2015 being the other two. They have lost all their 14 matches in the World Cup which included defeats against Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Afghanistan. They were the closest to record their first WC victory in 2015 against Afghanistan. However, the young Afghan side held their nerve to register their first victory at the grandest stage by a slender margin of 1 wicket.

With ICC reducing the number of teams for the 2019 World Cup, the Scots failed to make it to the World Cup. Nevertheless, they recorded an epic win over their neighbors England in the ODI format in June 2018.
