5 cricketers and their celebrity lookalikes

Folk wisdom has it that everyone has a doppelganger; somewhere out there in the world there is a perfect duplicate of you. A lot of cricketers, notably Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, have had a rendezvous with their non-celebrity doppelgangers.

They say there are 7 people in the world with almost the same faces. The following five cricketers have found resembling faces in not just anyone, but in people that most of us are familiar with.

#5 Heinrich Klaasen and Martin Guptill

Heinrich Klaasen was recently added to the South African squad for the ODI series against India as a replacement for the injured Faf du Plessis. He made his debut on 7th February and won the man of the match laurel in his second ODI.

When he strode out to bat for the first time in international cricket, a lot of people were perplexed. "When did Martin Guptill become a South African?", they wondered. After his name showed up on their television sets did they realize that it was a South African debutant by the name of Henrich Klaasen.

#4 Ian Butler and Ben Affleck

It has been a while since we've seen Ian Butler on a cricket field sporting a black cap. He last featured in an ODI for the Kiwis way back in 2010. Although he was overshadowed by Shane Bond, he time and again proved that he was talented with the ball.

Ben Affleck is a popular Hollywood actor and director, who has won plenty of awards for his work. The resemblance between the Kiwi pacer and the Hollywood celebrity is quite remarkable.

#3 Herschelle Gibbs and Pitbull

Herschelle Gibbs is a South African legend who has made valuable contributions to the game of cricket. Early in his career, he was touted to be the next Jonty Rhodes with his ability to hit the stumps. He certainly did not disappoint. He was the first cricketer to hit 6 sixes in an over in international cricket. He did so against the Netherlands in the 2007 World Cup. Needless to say, his most notable innings is his 175 against Australia in South Africa's astonishingly successful run chase of 434.

Armando Christian Pérez, popularly known as Pitbull, is one of the popular rappers in the world. When they have their sunglasses on, it's hard to distinguish between the cricketer and the singer.

#2 Ishant Sharma and Bryan Ruiz

It came as a surprise to many when spearhead Ishant Sharma replaced Bhuvaneshwar Kumar for the second test match in the ongoing Indian tour of South Africa. He bowled spectacularly well and showed exactly why he's a veteran in red ball cricket. Unfortunately, the IPL franchisees did not put their faith in him and he went unsold in the recently held auction. Luckily for him, he will join Sussex for the first two months of the 2018 county season, subject to BCCI approval.

Bryan Ruiz is an attacking midfielder who is the captain of the Costa Rica national football team. He has earned over a hundred caps for Costa Rica and netted 23 goals.

It's incredible how the two sportsmen from different sides of the globe look so similar. Another common trait is that the both of them breach defenses well in their respective sport!

#1 Alastair Cook and Henry Cavill

Alastair Cook is widely regarded as one of the greatest English batsmen ever, and is also one of the most prolific batsmen of the modern era. He even has a realistic chance to beat Sachin Tendulkar's record of 51 centuries in test cricket.

Alastair Cook looks surprisingly similar to a Hollywood actor, Henry Cavill, who gained prominence for portraying Superman in recent times.
