IPL is such a stage where every player whether it be some superstar or some unknown player everyone wants to make it big stage but very few could do it and to sustain is another challenge for the cricketers. It has given some great talents to not only the Indian team but also to other international teams.

With the IPL 2019 coming up just in four months today we will take a look at the top 5 players who made their place in the Indian Cricket Team with help of their strong and consistent performance in the IPL over several years.


#5 Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya is one of those players who made his IPL debut before his first-class debut. Krunal is left arm slow bowler and is also very good with the bat. He made his IPL debut in April 2016 while he made his first-class debut in the same year in the month of October. Mumbai Indians got their eyes on this young boy during one of their talents search campaign. Mumbai Indians bid aggressively for this player and went high up to over 2crore INR in the auction.

He made his IPL debut against the Gujrat lions and finished the match with a bowling figure of 1/20 and scored 20 runs in just 11 balls. Now he one of the important team members of the Mumbai Indians. He made his debut for the Indian team earlier this year when West Indies toured India.

He is showing great signs as a player and many think that he could become one of the reliable all-rounders Team India can bank upon. He might get a look into the World Cup Squad if he performs consistently in remaining matches India will play before the World Cup.

#4 Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal has now become the go-to spinner for Virat Kohli in the limited overs format both at the International level and also for his franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chahal was first picked up by Mumbai Indians in 2011 when he was just 21 years of age.

He was with Mumbai Indians for 3 long years but never got a game in the IPL, though he played for Mumbai Indians in the Champions League T20 in 2011. He helped Mumbai Indians to defend their title in the final when he took 2 wickets for 9 runs in three overs.

He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2014 IPL auction at his base price of 10 Lakhs. He made his international ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2016. Later in the same series, he made his T20 debut.

Very few people know that Chahal has also represented India in chess at the international level in the youth championship.

Mumbai Indians bought him at the 2015 IPL auction at the base price of 10 Lakhs INR. Hardik is known for his all-round abilities with bat and ball. He impressed everyone with his skills. He was retained by Mumbai Indians in 2018 IPL auction at astonishing 11 Crores INR.

He made his International ODI debut against the Black Caps in 2016. In his debut match, he was awarded man of the match. He was only the fourth Indian to do so. He is now a regular fixture for the Indian team in the limited overs format and is trying to make his way to the test side as well.

Everyone knew that this young lad will make some days. In the first season of IPL way back in 2008, the great Shane Warne said that he is the Rockstar of the team. Sir Jadeja was also a very important member of the U-19 squad who won the U-19 World Cup in 2008 under the leadership of Virat Kohli in Malaysia. He made debut for Indian Team at the age of 21 only. He scored an unbeaten 60 runs in his debut match.

In 2012 he was bought by Chennai Super Kings for whopping $2million. He stood up to his price tag and gave many performances for the CSK. He made his test debut on 13th December 2012 against England.

He becomes the fastest left-arm bowler to take 150 international test wickets on the 5th of August 2017. After the 2015 champions trophy, he was sacked from the limited over formats but he made his comeback last month and still hopes to make it to the World Cup squad.
