India and Pakistan, two names which have been linked to one another since ages. Names which not only share history and boundaries but talent as well. Over the years, we’ve experienced some amazing talents and personas who have given the other country an equal share of their work. And the people of the neighbourhood country, a similar levelled platform and love.

In the sport of Cricket, the popularity of players is not confined to their own country. The cricketing fans, being well matured and knowledgeable, keep the game above all. We hear a loud and almost compulsive cheer for AB Dr Villiers at Wankhede as for Chris Gayle or an Indian cricketer. Such is the beauty of the game and the welcoming nature of Indian fans. However, the support is just not restricted to on-field performances. We’ve welcomed many neighbourhood talents who work for our country today, without much regret to either of the countries.

Let us take a look at 5 of our favourite Pakistani players who have been welcomed by our industry with open arms.

#1 Shoaib Akhtar

Once the heartthrob of girls and a trouble for batsmen all around the world, the Rawalpindi express has done wonders with the ball in hand. A controversial figure, he has always hogged media limelight.

After doing wonders with the ball, he took to commentary and analysis of the game and was an instant hit with his Punjabi accent and rather off-beat views. He never minces his words, and this is his best trait. He has now decided to put up shop in India as he dons a hat of judge in a comedy show – Indian Mazaak League, along with Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh.

The aggressive fast bowler has a funny bone and some.
