After a convincing series victory over the visitors in the ODI series, India will aim to end West Indies' dismal tour with a win even in the T20I series. The ODI series, to everybody's surprise, was more closely fought until the 4th ODI in Mumbai, as the visitors lost rhythm and failed to make a comeback in any of the two ODIs.

The hosts were clinical as they didn't allow Windies with any sort of reprieve after a scare in the 3rd ODI at Pune. The visitors, after incurring a disappointment in the Test series, did punch above their weights to challenge India in the first half of the series.

However, the T20I series is expected to be evenly contested as the Windies will bank upon some of their pinch-hitters in the shortest version of the game. They will welcome the services of some of their T20I specialists in Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, and many others to add firepower to their armoury.

On the other hand, India who has given the opportunity to some of the youngsters will love to see the future of Indian cricket express themselves in the best possible manner at the world stage.

Here's a sneak peek of the possible records which can be broken in the T20I series:

#5 Shikhar Dhawan nears 1000 T20I runs

The flamboyant Indian opener didn't have a great run in the recently concluded ODI series against Windies. Dhawan, who failed to convert any of his starts in the series, had an immature pattern of soft dismissals. After being dropped from India's Test setup, Dhawan had a point to prove to still consider the doors open for himself even for the red-ball cricket. But he just couldn't get going after some consistent starts at the top.

However, he would want to bring amends to his fortune by scoring loads of runs in the upcoming T20I series. The Southpaw also has a reason to score runs in the T20Is. He is just 23 runs away from reaching to the milestone of 1000 T20 runs in International cricket for the men in blue.

In 40 games for India, Dhawan has scored 977 runs at a decent strike-rate of 130. It will be an icing on the cake for Shikhar if he gets back among runs to re-establish his form from the Asia Cup.

#4 Bumrah inches closer to 50 T20I wickets

Bumrah burst onto the scene saw him emerge as one of the most consistent death bowlers for the Mumbai Indians. His ability to bowl with new and the old ball saw him being fast-tracked into the Indian setup. In such a short span of time, he has come a long way to become India's spearhead bowler in the limited overs format of the game.

With just 35 games to his T20I career, Bumrah has already become the second most successful for India in T20Is. Currently, he fancies 43 wickets at an impressive economy of 6.79.

He needs only seven wickets to become only the second Indian to claim the feat of 50 wickets in T20Is. If the 24-year old can achieve the milestone in the three-match T20I series against West Indies, he will become the fastest Indian to reach to the landmark.

#3 Rohit Sharma just 11 short of 100 T20I sixes

The Indian skipper for the T20 series against West Indies, Rohit Sharma will have an opportunity to continue his six-hitting streak from the ODIs. A series which has been termed as the battle of sixes between the two sides, Rohit Sharma led the charts with joint most 16 sixes alongside Shimron Hetmyer of Windies.

However, an even shorter format gives Sharma the luxury to attack from word go. He is in touching distance to get to another milestone in his career. The 31-year old is just eleven short of 100 sixes in T20Is. He will become the first Indian and third batsman overall to get to this magical figure in International cricket.

Martin Guptill and Chris Gayle are the only two players to hit more than 100 sixes in T20Is. His attacking skills might come in handy for him to get to this feat in these three games against West Indies.

#2 India might eye first T20 series win over West Indies since 2011

In the three T20I series between the two teams so far in their cricketing history, the visitors have had the upper hand of claiming the honors twice. It will be for the first time that both the teams will lock horns in a three-match series in this format.

The only time a two-match series was played in America at Florida was in 2016 where West Indies edged India with a 1-run victory in the opening game with no result in the second match.

However, India would want to win their first major T20I series against West Indies since their last win in 2011. The dice will be in India's court as they would look to carry on the momentum from the ODI series and begin on a positive note. This will also be first T20I series organized in the sub-continent between the two sides.

#1 Rohit Sharma in quest of most T20I runs

A golden opportunity awaits Rohit Sharma as he can become the highest run scorer in the shortest version of the game in the upcoming series against West Indies. Rohit currently sits on the fifth position in the list of most T20I runs. He needs only 185 runs to topple Martin Guptill, the highest run scorer in T20 internationals, to lead the batting charts.

Rohit has 2086 runs in 84 games for India at an impressive strike rate of 137. With the kind of form that he currently fancies, it shouldn't be a tough ask for the opener to achieve the elusive feat.

He will be required to put things in perspective as he will not only take the field as a batsman but also as the skipper in the three games. However, it won't be a new challenge as Rohit has featured as the Indian skipper in Kohli's absence on most occasions.
