The game of cricket needs no introduction to the children of cricketers who idolize their father since childhood. Their father is their first coach who tries to induct cricketing knowledge through his vast experience about the game.

Famous father son duos like Chris Broad and Stuart Broad, Peter Pollock and Shaun Pollock, Micky Stewart and Alec Stewart, Geoff Marsh and his sons Shaun Marsh and Mitch Marsh to name a few, have represented their nation at the international level.

There are many upcoming cricketers who will look to follow the footsteps of their father and make it to the big stage. Here is a look at 5 such cricketers:

#5 Jake Lehmann

Jake, the son of the former Australian cricketer and the current coach of the Australian team, Darren Lehmann has made rapid strides at the domestic level. The 24-year-old left hand batsman, is a middle order batsman like his father Darren and has represented South Australia at the domestic level where he averages around 42 with the bat in 32 First Class matches.

Jake is a regular member of the Australia A team and has played in Big Bash league too. He was in contention for a call to the national team for the ongoing Ashes series but eventually the Australian selectors preferred more experience in the middle order. It will not be long before we see Jake in the Baggy Green in the near future.

#4 Thando Ntini

Thando, like his father Makhaya is a right arm fast bowler who has been selected to represent South Africa in the Under 19 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in New Zealand next month.

Thando has picked up 10 wickets in 8 youth one-dayers and the 17-year-old will look to replicate his father Makhaya who was the third most successful Test bowler for South Africa courtesy of his 390 wickets.

Arjun, the son of the Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, is slowly making it to the news by his performances at the youth level cricket. Arjun is an all-rounder who has made a name for himself with his left arm pace bowling. He had been selected for the Mumbai U-19 squad and has been seen bowling in the nets to the Indian team on a few occasions.

Arjun has bowled in the nets to the England Test team earlier this year when his yorker hurt England's Jonny Bairstow ahead of the Test series against South Africa. As he has the ability to bowl fast, he will certainly be looked upon by the selectors as a left-arm pacer in the future.

#2 Austin Waugh

Austin has a perfect platform to perform at the U 19 World Cup to make it to the next level

Steve Waugh was one of the most loved and respected cricketers and captains in modern day cricket. Steve with his sharp cricketing brain, leadership skills and sound batting technique guided Australia to the top spot in Test and ODI cricket during his tenure as a captain.

His son Austin has been selected in the Australia U 19 squad for the Under 19 World Cup in New Zealand in January 2018. Austin is an all rounder like his father, bats in the middle order and bowls medium pace.

Earlier this month, Austin destroyed Western Australia in a U-19 game when he picked up 5 wickets for just 19 runs. Apart from his bowling skills, Austin is a sound batsman who has scored a lot of runs at the Under 17 and 19 level.

Austin will look to make an impression in the U 19 World Cup and make it to the next level in the near future.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul with his father Shivnarine Chanderpaul

Tagenarine, the son of Shivnarine Chanderpaul is a left handed opening batsman who has represented West Indies at the Under 19 World Cup in the year 2014. Since then the 21-year-old, has represented his domestic team Guyana in 16 First Class matches. Though he averages a mere 25.20 in First Class cricket, he has got it in him to make it to international cricket.

Tagenarine will be under the watchful eyes of Shivnarine, the second highest Test scorer for West Indies. If Tagenarine starts scoring runs at the domestic level, the time is not far when he will start representing West Indies at the international level.
