IPL is going to enter its twelfth season in 2019. There are speculations that the venue of IPL 2019 could be shifted from India to UAE or South Africa due to the General Elections in India. IPL auction for the 2019 season is going to take place in Jaipur on 18th of December.

IPL has become one of the most prominent leagues in the world. Every year talent from around the world come to India to showcase their talent in the IPL. They become overnight sensations by their performances. IPL has also become the biggest international platform for the youngsters and relatively unknown players to exhibit their talent. It also helps them to fetch a hefty sum in the auction.

West Indies players are known to be the hard-hitters of the ball. They have produced lots of power hitters who possess the ability to turn a game single-handedly by their continuous hard hitting. Franchise go all out for these players at the time of the auction. Players like Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Pollard, Evin Lewis had fetched huge contracts at the IPL in the past.

This year too, West Indian players would be hot property at the auction. There are several West Indies players who have performed brilliantly in the CPL and T10 League. Darren Bravo is a left-handed middle-order batsman from Trinidad who idolizes the great Brian Lara. He is blessed with a fair set of skills and a good temperament. This year in CPL Darren Bravo showed a completely new side of himself. He played an unbelievable innings 94 runs in just 36 balls against the St. Lucia Stars. He chased down the target of 213 for his team TKR from a vulnerable position of 71 for 3 in 9.2 overs. He hit 10 sixes and six fours in that inning.

Every franchise would want a player like Darren Bravo in the middle order who could change the game by playing fearless cricket and hitting big shots continuously. Bravo was lacklustre the T20 series against India. He could still be a useful purchase for the franchises for reserve as Australian players would be unavailable for the complete tournament.

5. Sherfane Rutherford

He is just 20-years-old and he has made a name for himself for his massive shots in the CPL. He scored 171 runs in seven innings in the CPL, by batting at number 6 or 7 for his team. Rutherford became instrumental in finishing many games for his team Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL.

In a match against TKR, Rutherford scored 45 runs off just 13 balls. He tore apart the most experienced and balanced bowling attack of the CPL. He hit six sixes and a four in that innings. Rutherford didn't get a chance in the T20 series against India. Rutherford would be on the radar of the franchise who want players like Pollard or Russell in their team. He is also a part-time handy medium pacer.


4. Fabian Allen

Fabian Allen is a spin bowling all-rounder who was part of St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL 2018. He was inducted late into the side. But only in his three innings, he scored 119 runs with a strike rate of 188. His average was also 119 because he went not out two times in three innings.

He played a wonderful knock of 64 not out in just 34 balls against the Barbados Tridents to finish a significant match for his team. His team had lost five wickets when he came to bat. Allen is a good lower order pinch hitter who also bowls handy off-spin. Allen could be a good addition for many franchises in the IPL who lacks a batsman who is expert in lower order pinch hitting. Fabian Allen could be a good reserve for the franchise if their main players get injured.

3. Rovman Powell

Rovman Powell is often seen as the next Andre Russell for West Indies. At the age of 25, Powell has garnered a reputation of the lower-order pinch hitter. He has become quite famous for his big-hitting abilities in the CPL. Powell's career rose up at the start of 2015 when he made his List A debut and was named Man of the Match named in his debut match itself.

Rowman showed his hitting abilities in this year's CPL. He had a thunderous strike rate of 162.06. In his 11 matches in CPL, he scored 329 runs at an average of about 54.83. He also hit 20 long sixes in those matches. Rovman has improved his batting as a lower order finisher. These kind of players are in high demand at the auction. Rovman will surely bag a mouth-watering deal at the IPL auction. Rovman has also shown fantastic form in the T10 league in UAE.


2. Nicholas Pooran

Nicholas Pooran is a 23-year-old wicket-keeper batsman of West Indies. He is known for his quickfire innings in the shorter format of the game. He has the ability to clear the boundary on his strength. He also plays lots of unorthodox shots in his innings. Pooran is currently in good form in the T20 cricket.

Pooran usually plays in the top-order but he was sent in the middle-order against India in the T20. He scored 53 runs in just 25 balls which helped his team to put a respectable target of 181. He is also performing brilliantly in the T10 league in UAE. He has scored five 40+ scores in the league, which include two fifties. Pooran could be a good buy for the franchises as he can bat anywhere in the order. He could also go for a heavy price at the auction due to his current form.

Shimron Hetymer has become the new sensation of the West Indies cricket. In his two ODIs against India, he scored 200 runs with a strike rate of about 140. He will surely be on the top of the picking list of most of the IPL franchises. Hetymer has a good chance to become the new million dollar baby of the IPL.

Shimron Hetymer is a left-handed Guyana batsman who plays for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL. He is a fearless cricketer who possesses a solid technique which helps him to score runs aggressively in the subcontinent conditions. Hetmyer was the third-highest run-scorer in the CPL, scoring 440 runs at an average of 40 and with a strike rate of 148.14.

Hetmyer was the backbone of Guyana Amazon Warriors in their middle-order throughout the CPL. Hetymer would be someone to look out at the auction this year.
