Uncapped Multan born all-rounder Aamer Yamin has replaced Anwar Ali who has been sidelined from Pakistan's ODI series against Zimbabwe, as reported by ESPNCricinfo. Pakistan Cricket Board tweeted that the chairman Shahryar Khan had given his assent for the PCB selectors’ decision to pick the young seam bowling all-rounder.

Initially, Anwar Ali had been selected for the ODI squad. But, he was left out of the T20 squad as he could not recover in time for the 2 match series starting this Sunday. But, the groin injury had aggravated enough for the selectors to consider naming a replacement for the Karachi-based cricketer.

The 25-year-old Yamin has played 25 List A matches and he has scored 364 runs at an average of 22.75 with two half-centuries. He has also scalped 35 wickets at 32.20 with one five-wicket haul. The eager debutant will be looking to grab this opportunity and cement his place in the Pakistan squad for the upcoming limited overs series against England in UAE.

He comes in place for the hard hitting Ali who had guided Pakistan to a thrilling one-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20I, thereby ensuring that they won the series 2-0. His 17 ball 46 earned him the Man of the Match award in the aforementioned win.

The team management will be hoping that Yamin will step up and prove his worth in the upcoming ODI series against a rejuvenated Zimbabwe team which could be a potentially tricky assignment for the Men in Green.

Updated Pakistan ODI squad: Azhar Ali (captain), Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Sohaib Maqsood, Shoaib Malik, Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Mohammad Rizwan, Imad Wasim, Aamer Yamin, Wahab Raiz, Yasir Shah, Rahat Ali, Mohammad Irfan
