What's the story?

Cheteshwar Pujara, the backbone of the Indian Test team, fired his 18th Test century and third of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, helping visitors end the day one of the fourth Test on top at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The 30-year-old has given Australian bowlers a hard run throughout the series, having already made over 450 runs in the four matches so far.

As he completed his hundred this morning, spinner, Nathan Lyon couldn't control himself in asking Pujara that what keeps him so concentrated. "Aren’t you bored yet?” the off-spinner was caught saying by the stump mic.

The background

Pujara is the leading run-scorer of the series thus far and many of the former Aussie cricketers recently said that he has been the difference between the two sides as India are leading the series by 2-1. The right-handed batsman dominated at all the four venues despite the fact that a few pitches were criticized for their 'sour' nature.

After scoring a comprehensive 106-run knock in the last Test, the experienced campaigner stood tall in the ongoing Sydney Test as well, scoring another gutsy century. He is still unbeaten on 130 runs and could add more to his tally as India takes the field tomorrow.

The heart of the matter

The Saurashtra-born cricketer with his hundred at Sydney entered the elite club comprising legendary cricketers like Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Virat Kohli, and Vijay Hazare to have played more than 1000 deliveries during a Test series in Australia. The Aussies have looked quite helpless while bowling to him.

Revealing the same, the senior spinner, Nathan Lyon asked the batting heavyweight, "Aren't you bored yet?’ while Pujara replied with a glittering smile. The same was caught by stump mic in the Day first of ongoing fourth Test at SCG.

What's next

India has already retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and having got a strong start in the fourth Test, the Kohli-led side would be eyeing to win the series by 3-1. If they want to do it, Pujara will have to score big tomorrow.
