IPL 2024 DC Squad

The DC Team 2024 has the caliber to become the IPL champions. Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly have assembled a fantastic squad for the Delhi Capitals franchise. The team’s captain Rishabh Pant was also present for the auction in Dubai.

Delhi Capitals Squads had spent INR 71.05 crore to retain the players they wanted to. Next, they spent big at the auction to add the likes of Harry Brook, Kumar Kushagra, Tristan Stubbs and Ricky Bhui to the DC Players List 2024.

DC Players List 2024 featured some reliable match-winners even before the auction happened. They had capped Indian cricketers like Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar in the squad.

Coach Ricky Ponting retained the team’s Australian stars David Warner and Mitchell Marsh as well, while South African speedster Anrich Nortje will also continue to be in the DC Team 2024.

The new additions to the Delhi Capitals Team 2024 feature overseas youngsters Tristan Stubbs and Harry Brook. Another new name to join the DC Players List 2024 was Kumar Kushagra. Delhi Capitals wanted a backup for Rishabh Pant in the Indian wicket keeping department. Hence, they splurged INR 7.2 crore for Kumar.

To ensure they have another backup in that department, Delhi Capitals also roped in Ricky Bhui for INR 20 lakh at the IPL 2024 Auction.

IPL 2024 Auction Rules

BCCI and IPL Governing Council decided on the rules of the auction before the auction, and all 10 teams had a clear idea of what to expect from the auctions. Here are some of the main rules:

1. The maximum number of players in a team is 25. The minimum number of players in a team is 18.

2. Each franchise has to spend at least 75% of the full auction purse.

3. The maximum number of Indian players a team can sign is 25, while the minimum number of Indian players is 10.

4. Trading window for IPL 2024 will open after the auction ends.

Delhi Capitals entered the IPL 2024 Auction with a massive purse value of INR 24.45 crore still available to spend. Coach Ricky Ponting used the funds smartly to stack up wicket keeping options in the squad.

Delhi Capitals Team retained 16 players before the IPL 2024 Auction. Captain Rishabh Pant was the most expensive name retained by the Delhi Capitals for INR 16 crore. He missed IPL 2023 due to injury, but he is back for IPL 2024. Here is the full DC Players List 2024 retained before the auction:

IPL 2024 DC Traded Players

Delhi Capitals did not execute any trades before the IPL 2024 Auction. DC did not trade any players to their squad, and they did not entertain any trades of their retained players. As per reports, DC approached MI for Mumbai Indians, but the trade did not happen.
