The second edition of Global T20 Canada league ended with one of the most thrilling finals in the current times taking place between Winnipeg Hawks and Vancouver Knights. The game ended in a tie as both teams managed to score 192 runs in 20 overs.

In the end, the Hawks won the final as they chased down the target of 10 runs in the Super Over.

After electing to bowl first, the Vancouver Knights pulled things back as they restricted the Winnipeg Hawks to 192 runs. Shaiman Anwar’s 90-run knock helped the Hawks put up the score on the board.

A plethora of experienced cricketers had taken part in the 2019 Global T20 league which had generated huge excitement among the fans. Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, JP Duminy, and many more stars made their presence felt in this competition.

Chris Lynn is a kind of batsman who is the most suited for the T20 format. He is a guy who can smash every ball outside the park irrespective of the bowler bowling to him.

The 29-year-old Australian star was a part of the winning team Winnipeg Hawks and topped the 'Most Sixes' charts in the second edition of the Canada league. He smashed a total of 27 sixes in just 7 matches. While opening the innings, he had smashed a total of 295 runs for his side.

Shoaib Malik was a part of the Vancouver Knights side who ended as runners-up of Global T20 League 2019.

Malik had a great tournament as he topped two charts in the top performer’s list. With the bat, he topped the list of the batsmen with the highest batting average in the tournament with a magnificent batting average of 213 in the tournament. Apart from that, he even led the list of the bowler with the best economy rate. He just bowled 3 overs in the 6 matches but topped the charts with his miserly economy rate of 6.

Brampton Wolves did not have the luck on their side as they lost in the semi-finals of Global T20 Canada 2019. Led by the captain Colin Munro, the side won 4 out of 6 matches and finished 1st on the points table. Munro cannot complain though as individually, their players tried their best to get the team past the finish line. Ish Sodhi was one such bowler.

The mighty leg-spinner from New Zealand named Ish Sodhi proved to be the cornerstone of his side in 2019. He topped the charts of highest wicket-taker in the tournament which showcases his art of outwitting the batsmen.

Sodhi scalped 12 wickets from 6 matches while bowling 22 overs in the tournament. His bowling average of 14.58 gives more insights into his terrific form.

Widely known as the ‘Universe Boss’, Chris Gayle has always been an aggressive opener who can take his team to a match-winning score if he gets going. He has the ability to slog the ball right from ball one which makes him the most dangerous batsman of the T20 format.

Chris Gayle was one of the top performers in the history of Global T20 Canada league. He was the captain of the Vancouver Knights side which won the tournament in 2018. This year also he led the same side not to the trophy but to the runners-up position.

Individually, he topped the list of the highest individual run-scorer of the tournament thanks to his blistering century. He smashed a total of 122 runs from just 54 balls at a mind-boggling strike rate of 225.93 in the game against Montreal Tigers.

The final of Global T20 Canada League 2019 was one of the most exciting ones from the fan’s point of view. The match eventually ended with a super over as the 20-over match could not produce a winner. JP Duminy and Shoaib Malik were the captains of the two respective finalists hence, they would have had their hearts in the mouth during the last over. Ultimately, the tournament was won by Winnipeg Hawks with JP Duminy being the most valuable player of the tournament.

After announcing his retirement in the year 2019, JP Duminy proved that he still has a lot of cricket left in him. The South African emerged as the leading run-scorer of the tournament. He smashed a total of 332 runs from 8 matches.
