The ICC Cricket World Cup is on its way as the avid cricket followers wait for the biggest competition in cricket to commence. The tournament is set to be co-hosted by England and Wales, with the hosts being tipped as heavy favourites for the trophy.

England does have a commendable squad and stand a great chance of clinching the trophy but there is one more team that will be in the hunt and that is Team India.

Virat Kohli and Co. are prepared to battle for glory this summer as they will be carrying the hope of millions when they take the centre stage in England.

India has won the quadrennial tournament twice and will be looking to make history by becoming just the second team ever to win 3 World Cups, with Australia being the first.

Things won't be easy on the English soil as the home team's formidable record does put them in a really strong position of winning their maiden title but India's history in the tournament will surely give them and their fans a lot of confidence.

Talking about the men in blue, they do hold a good number of records in the tournament and will look to add a few more this summer. Team India is known for its ability to score a plethora of runs and their record at the World Cup supports our argument.

India has been part of some of the biggest wins in the history of the tournament and here we list down their 4 biggest wins in terms of runs at the World Cup:

India and Sri Lanka have squared off in many memorable World Cup fixtures but there happened this one match in 1999, which won't be fondly remembered by ardent supporters of Sri Lankan cricket.

India and Sri Lanka were grouped together at the 1999 tournament and it was at Taunton where these two subcontinent giants collided. The match was expected to be an evenly contested one but Sourav Ganguly had other plans as he smashed the Lankan bowlers all around the park to give the cricketing world one of the greatest World Cup knocks of all-time.

The Bengal Prince scored 183 to help India put on a mighty total of 373/6 in their 50 overs. He was ably supported by Dravid who put on a 318-run partnership for the second wicket with Dada.

In reply, the Sri Lankan batting order collapsed in chasing the humongous target as the Lankans were skittled out for 216, thus giving India a victory by 157 runs.

#3 vs Namibia, 2003 - 181 runs

Team India's 3rd biggest win came against the African Nation of Namibia at the 2003 World Cup. While India were heads on favourite for this encounter, that doesn't take away the fact that they registered such a gigantic win at the grandest stage.

India batting first scored 311/2 in their 50 overs as the Indian maestros - Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly scored impressive centuries to help their side breach the 300-run mark.

The Namibian batting unit crumbled against a dominant Indian bowling attack as they were wrapped up at the score of 130. Yuvraj Singh enjoyed a great spell with the ball as he took 4 wickets. He was appreciated for making good use of the pitch conditions.

India's win over Namibia is often remembered for the monumental partnership between Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar as the two built a 244-run stand in the middle.

India enjoyed a stellar time at the 2003 World Cup as they managed to go all the way to the final, where they came up short against a fierce Australian side.

On their way to the final, India humbled many opponents as they made a name for themselves by scoring a great number of runs. India's potent batting unit was on song in their group stage clash against Sri Lanka as they scored a total of 292 runs against a solid Sri Lankan bowling attack.

Sachin Tendulkar anchored the Indian innings as he played a brilliant inning of 97 and was unlucky to have missed out on a well-deserved century. Nonetheless, Sri Lanka were asked to chase the total and in response, they crumbled to the Indian pace attack comprising Javagal Srinath, Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan.

The Lankan Lions were bowled out for a meagre total of 109 as India won the match by 183 runs.

#1 vs Bermuda, 2007 - 257 runs

And on number one, we have India's match against part-timers Bermuda at Port of Spain, back in 2007. The men in blue had a disastrous World Cup in West Indies as they crashed out in the group stage to mark a disappointing campaign.

Despite enduring a disappointing time in the Carribean, the men in blue managed to enter the record books for a good reason as their match against Bermuda is still remembered by the devotees of the Indian cricket team.

India became the first team ever to score a total in excess of 400 at World Cup as they smashed the debutant nation, Bermuda for a gigantic total of 413.

This was the first time that India scored 400 or more and the match still holds a special place in the World Cup's vault of memories.

Virender Sehwag scored an aggressive century and was aptly supported by Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh as they scored 89 and 83 respectively. Virender Sehwag's 114 helped India register this colossal total and was deservingly named as the man of the match.

Bermuda were all out for 156, which gave India it's biggest World Cup win till date.
