Australia recorded their fourth win of the ICC World Test Championship by defeating Pakistan in the day-night Test match at Adelaide Oval. Left-handed opening batsman, David Warner received the Man of the Match award for his incredible innings of 335 runs.

The home team was high on momentum having defeated Azhar Ali's men in the first Test match. Australia batted first in the second match but they lost Joe Burns' wicket in the fourth over. It looked like Pakistan would pull off a better show however, the duo of Warner and Marnus Labuschagne stitched a brilliant partnership of 361 runs for the second wicket.

Labuschagne lost his wicket at the individual score of 162 runs but Warner continued his onslaught from the other end. He remained unbeaten on 335 while Steve Smith and Matthew Wade scored 36 runs each before Australia declared the innings at 589/3.

In reply, the Pakistani top order batsmen surrendered to the trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. Yasir Shah registered his maiden Test century however, Starc's six-wicket haul kept Pakistan down to 302 runs.

Keeping the weather conditions in mind, Australia enforced a follow-on on Pakistan. Once again Pakistan lost their top order batsmen early but, Shan Masood and Asad Shafiq toiled the Australians with a fifty each. After the pacers ruled the roost in the first innings, off-spinner Nathan Lyon came to the party in the second innings.

He dismissed both Masood and Shafiq and soon completed his five-wicket haul to seal an innings win for Australia.
