Australia vs India T20I series 2018: A look at all the important stats and records

The Indian men's cricket team have reached Australia to begin their 2-month journey comprising of all three formats of matches - three T20Is followed by four Tests and three ODIs. The tour commences with the first T20I on Wednesday, the 21st of November in Brisbane, and ends with the third ODI on 18th January 2019.

As India are all set to begin their Tour Down Under with the T20I series, let's take a look at the statistics of all of India's encounters with Australia in T20 matches up to now.

15 - Total number of matches played, out of which India have the upper hand with 10 wins, while Australia have won the remaining 5.

1 - Match abandoned - the 3rd T20I (N) of the Australia tour of India at Hyderabad on 13th Oct 2017, due to flooding of the ground because of incessant rains.

6 - Number of matches played in Australia, out of which India have won 4 and lost 2.

202/4 - the highest total, which came in the only T20I (N) of Australia's tour of India at Rajkot on 10th October 2013. Batting first, Australia finished their innings at a score of 201/7, and India replied with 202/4 and won the match with 6 wickets in hand. Yuvraj Singh was the Man of the Match with an unbeaten 77 off 35 balls filled with 8 fours and 5 sixes.

74/10 - the lowest total, which came in the only T20I (N) of India's tour of Australia at Melbourne on 1st February 2008. Batting first, India were all out on 74 in 17.3 overs, and Australia achieved the target with the loss of a solitary wicket in 11.2 overs. Michael Clarke was the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 37 off 36 balls.

403 - Highest Match Aggregate, which came in the only T20I (N) of Australia's tour of India at Rajkot on 10th October 2013. Australia, batting first, scored 201 and India replied with 202.

149 - Lowest Match Aggregate, which came in the only T20I (N) of India's tour of Australia at Melbourne on 1st February 2008. India, batting first, were all out on 74, while Australia scored 75 to win the match.

73 - Largest victory margin by runs. In the Group Match of the 2014 World T20 in Dhaka, India scored 159/7 while Australia were all out on 86.

15 - Smallest victory margin by runs. In the semifinal of the ICC World Twenty20 at Durban on 22nd September, 2007, India scored 188/5 and Australia replied with 173/7.

423 - Most runs scored by an Indian. The Indian captain Virat Kohli is on top with 423 runs in 11 innings at an average of 60.42 and a highest of 90*.

342 - Most runs scored by an Australian. Aaron Finch tops the list with 342 runs in 8 innings at an average of 42.75 and a highest of 89.

124* - Highest individual score. Shane Watson struck 124* off 71 balls in 2016 at Sydney.

20 - Most sixes by an individual. This record is also held by Shane Watson. Yuvraj Singh is a close second on the list with 19 sixes.

7 - Most sixes in an innings. Shane Watson and David Warner share the honors here.

1 - Number of 100s scored. Only one batsman has achieved this feat, Shane Watson, when he scored 124* in 2016 at Sydney.

10 - Most wickets by an individual. Jasprit Bumrah, Shane Watson and Ravichandran Ashwin share the honors with 10 wickets each.

4/11 - Best bowling figures in an innings. This record lies with Ravichandran Ashwin who came up with match-winning figures of 4/11 in the Group Match of the ICC World T20 at Dhaka in 2014.

52 - Most runs conceded by a bowler in an innings. Ishant Sharma has the unfortunate record of conceding the most runs in an innings, as he went for 52 runs off his 4 overs at Rajkot in 2013.
