Once the ongoing three-match Test series against South Africa gets over, India's next assignment will be against Bangladesh (three T20Is and two Tests). India have clinched the three-match series for the 'Freedom Trophy' in style, having won the recently concluded second Test at Pune by an innings and 137 runs.

India have now won 11 consecutive Test series at home (a new world record), thereby extending their domination in the whites.

Against the visiting neighbours, India will play three T20Is at Delhi, Rajkot and Nagpur before moving to Indore and Kolkata for the two Test matches. This T20I series could be the perfect platform for the Men in Blue to try out players who have been consistent in the IPL as well as other Indian domestic tournaments of late.

Let us look at four players India should consider giving a chance for the three-match series beginning on 3 November.

1) Sanju Samson

The wicket-keeper batsman from Kerala Sanju Samson recently made headlines for his record-breaking knock in the ongoing 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. The talented 24-year-old smashed 212* off 129 balls against Goa, thereby registering the highest List A score in Indian domestic cricket as well the highest List A score by a wicket-keeper in the world.

The swashbuckling knock included a whopping 21 fours and 10 sixes.

Samson has been quite consistent in the IPL, having amassed 342, 441 and 386 runs in the past three seasons (2019, 2018 and 2017 respectively). Playing for the 2008 champions Rajasthan Royals, he scored a brilliant 102* off 55 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium this year.

Samson's name has been doing the rounds for quite some time in Indian cricket given his style of play and calibre. Unfortunately though, he hasn't got enough opportunities to prove himself in the Indian colours.

Rishabh Pant, who donned the gloves against South Africa during the three-match T20I series last month, wasn't that effective - either behind the stumps or with the bat. That might augur well for Samson, who has been waiting patiently for a major breakthrough for a long time.

The three-match T20I series against Bangladesh at home might be the perfect platform for India to try out Samson and also for him to establish his credentials on the international stage.

2) Shubman Gill

Currently a part of the Indian Test squad for the three-match Test series against Faf du Plessis' South African side, Shubman Gill is yet to get a nod in the whites for Team India.

The immensely talented batsman from Punjab has two ODI appearances under his belt already. He made his ODI debut against New Zealand at Hamilton back in January this year.

Gill, who has played two IPL seasons for the two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders, has so far amassed 499 runs in 27 matches during the tournament at a strike-rate of 132.36. His highest score is 76*, and he has four IPL half-centuries to his name.

The 20-year-old certainly deserves a chance against Bangladesh to prove his mettle with the willow. His fans would be dearly hoping that he makes the squad against Shakib Al Hasan's men.

3) Shreyas Gopal

The 26-year-old from Karnataka is an excellent leg-spinner apart from having the ability to contribute with the bat low down the order.

Shreyas Gopal, who has 38 wickets in 31 IPL matches, played for Mumbai Indians from 2014-2017, and was part of the squad that won the titles in 2015 and 2017. Rajasthan Royals bought him at his base price of INR 20 lakh at the 2018 auction, and most would agree that it has been a bargain buy for the men from Jaipur.

The all-rounder, who took 11 wickets in the 2018 IPL, produced a sensational performance in the 2019 edition picking up 20 wickets (fourth highest wicket-taker) at an economy of 7.22, with best figures of 3/12.

Gopal's hat-trick in a rain-marred match against Royal Challengers Bangalore won the hearts of many as he removed Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis in the last three balls of the second over during RCB's innings.

4) Suryakumar Yadav

A prolific run-getter in the Indian domestic circuit, Suryakumar Yadav has been unlucky not to have donned the blue jersey even once in his career so far.

The 29-year-old has played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL apart from his stint with four-time winners Mumbai Indians. With 1548 runs in 85 IPL matches at a strike-rate of 131.96, the Mumbaikar has made valuable contributions with the bat in the cash-rich league over the past seven seasons.

This year, Yadav was an integral part of the title-winning Mumbai Indians side. He amassed 424 runs in 16 matches in the season, which included two half-centuries.

Yadav came up with a valiant 71* against Chennai Super Kings in the crucial Qualifier 1 game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The gritty knock, on a sluggish Chepauk wicket against the likes of veterans Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir, provided enough evidence of his talent and class.

The Bangladesh series might just be what the doctor ordered for Yadav to announce his arrival in the international arena.
